'Active' weather pattern expected this week in the Tri-State
After a blazing hot weekend in the Tri-State, the weather pattern will turn "active" this week in the region, according to the National Weather Service.
Here's what forecasters are saying about storm chances, temperatures and more in the coming days.
Scattered thunderstorms will develop over the Tri-State on Monday afternoon, with the best chances between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Severe weather isn't expected, but heavy rain is possible. While it will be humid outside, the actual air temperature will only reach the middle 80s.
A few strong to possibly severe storms will be possible on Tuesday in the afternoon and evening hours. While the chances of widespread severe weather are low, damaging wind gusts could accompany some of the storms.
Daily chances for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will persist, and temperatures will slowly climb throughout the week, from the middle 80s early to the lower 90s by Friday.
