Timetable announced for Qatar's return to World aquabiking stage in late October

Tribune News Network Doha Aquabike Promotion and the Doha Marine Sports Club (DMSC) have announced details of Qatar's eagerly awaited return to hosting a round of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship on October 30-November 1. The Grand Prix of Qatar will be the first event of its kind to be hosted in the Middle Eastern state since 2015 and will act as the final round of the UIM-ABP Aquabike Class Pro Circuit Championship, the UIM-ABP Aquabike Asian Continental Championship, round two of the Parallel Slalom World Championship and the stand-alone round of the Runabout GP2 Asian Continental C'ship. The on-water action off Mina Corniche in Doha will be centred around three hectic days of racing with the weekend's timetable getting underway with the all-important administration and scrutineering formalities on Wednesday (October 29). A busy Thursday (October 30) timetable sees the free practice sessions for the Runabout GP2 Asian Continental Championship fire into life from 09.30hrs and precede nearly two hours of practice for the Ski Ladies GP1, Ski GP1, Runabout GP1 and Freestyle competitors. The afternoon is dominated by the various qualifying and pole position sessions for the different race disciplines. The first of the Runabout GP2 Asian Continental Championship Motos kickstarts Friday morning's action from 10.00hrs and is followed by the opening Moto for Ski Ladies GP1 and Ski GP1. The second of the Motos follow in the afternoon before the Runabout GP1 and Freestyle contenders take part in their opening Motos. The evening's action will be rounded off from 18.30hrs by the Parallel Slalom competition and a Freestyle night show to entertain the crowds of spectators on Doha Corniche. Pole qualifying for the Qatar International Cup and non-qualified Runabout GP2 riders opens Saturday morning's action from 10.00hrs. There is further free practice for the major four World Championship disciplines and then a Moto for the Qatar International Cup to round off the morning's action. The third of the Runabout GP2 Asian Continental Championship Motos is first on the agenda in the afternoon from 13.30hrs and precedes the third of the Ski Ladies GP1 and Ski GP1 Motos that will decide the outcome of the World Championship from 14.00hrs. Runabout GP1 and Freestyle contenders then take to the water from 15.20hrs for their second Motos that will draw a curtain on the season's UIM-ABP World Championship action.
