GloRilla's Glo Bash brings fans from near and far to Memphis to celebrate hometown star

Thousands of fans came ready for Memphis rapper GloRilla's inaugural Glo Bash concert at FedExForum on July 25. The crowd packed the Downtown Memphis venue to see the artist perform in her hometown for the first time since making a surprise appearance during the Rod Wave and Moneybagg Yo show at FedExForum in November. The Glo Bash is a celebratory concert ahead of Grammy-nominated GloRilla's upcoming birthday on July 28. Some fans, like Jessica and Trinity Green, traveled from out-of-state to see the 25-year-old rapper perform live. Although the native Memphians moved to San Antonio, the mother-daughter duo were not going to miss the moment to see GloRilla live. 'It's nothing like seeing a hometown person in their hometown," Jessica Green said. "Because I've seen Three 6 (Mafia), I've seen Yo Gotti, I saw Dolph, so it was amazing to see hometown people in (their) hometown." The mother and daughter thought Glo Bash would be a special experience for them. 'I think it's gonna be really special, and my mom's been wanting to see her,' Trinity Green said. "We are so excited to see her," Jessica Green said. "I have been listening to Glo since before she was Glo." Fans were dressed and decked out in GloRilla merch as they arrived at FedExForum on the hot July evening. 'I bought it at Walmart for $10," fan Cheryl Green said, while sporting a GloRilla collage shirt. "I been had it because I knew I was coming." The Glo Bash gave some fans their first chance to see her light up the performance stage. 'This is my first time seeing GloRilla,' Morgan Burgess said. GloRilla was expected to bring out other artists to accompany her on stage during Glo Bash, and many fans had wish lists of special guests they wanted to see. 'I wish she'd bring out [Yo] Gotti, but I know that's probably not possible," Cheryl Green said. 'So, Moneybagg [Yo] and Big Boogie."
