PSP opens applications for ‘Law and Leadership Academy'

PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) — The application period for the 2025 Pennsylvania State Police Law and Leadership Academy is now open. Applications, which can be obtained either by contacting Trooper Tristan Tappe at ttappe@ or on PSP's website, will be accepted through April 10. The program is meant to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and people from surrounding communities seeking a career in the industry. Those enrolled will have the opportunity to experience the process of becoming a cadet in a law enforcement academy. The program will run the following days: Mondays: 5:30 – 8 p.m. from May 19 – Aug. 6 Wednesdays: 8:30 – 11 a.m. from May 19 – Aug. 6 Two Saturdays, July 14 and 19, from 8:30 – 11 a.m. The program is free of cost to anyone accepted and is modeled after the police academies that adults attend to become sworn law enforcement officers. Pennsylvania State Police open applications for 2025 Southwest Law, Leadership Academy

Pennsylvania State Police are now accepting applications for their 2025 Law and Leadership Academy in their Southwest Location. Anyone over the age of 18 who graduated from high school or has a GED is eligible to attend the event. Classes are held at the PSP Southwest Training Center at 2900 Seminary Drive in Unity Township on Mondays from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Those classes will run from May 19 to Aug. 6. There will be two Saturday classes. One on June 14 and the other on July 19 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The program is for people looking for a career in law enforcement and is free.
