Pennsylvania State Police open applications for 2025 Southwest Law, Leadership Academy
Pennsylvania State Police are now accepting applications for their 2025 Law and Leadership Academy in their Southwest Location.
Anyone over the age of 18 who graduated from high school or has a GED is eligible to attend the event.
Classes are held at the PSP Southwest Training Center at 2900 Seminary Drive in Unity Township on Mondays from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Those classes will run from May 19 to Aug. 6.
There will be two Saturday classes. One on June 14 and the other on July 19 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
The program is for people looking for a career in law enforcement and is free.
Anyone interested in attending the academy must contact Tpr. Tristan Tappe, Program Coordinator, at ttappe@pa.gov.

(WJET/WFXP)– An Ohio man has been accused by a federal grand jury in Erie of traveling across state lines to meet up with an underage victim to produce child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The six-count indictment against 26-year-old Robert A. Pepus of Garrettsville, Ohio, of travelling across state lines to meet up with a minor to engage in sexual activity, creating and possessing CSAM between September and October 2024. State troopers ask for help identifying woman suspected of bank fraud in Greensburg
Pennsylvania State Police in Greensburg are working to identify a woman suspected in several bank fraud cases. Troopers say she deposited money orders and withdrew funds from victims' accounts at three First National Bank locations in Greensburg. Investigators say the amount taken totals around $5,400. Roving DUI patrols to saturate three counties this weekend
(WBRE/WYOU) — Dozens of police officers and state troopers will be out patrolling three counties in northeastern Pennsylvania this weekend as part of Operation Nighthawk. Pennsylvania State Police say Troop P Wilkes-Barre will host Operation Nighthawk, a specialized training and enforcement program that targets drunk driving.
