Lions Advance To Eastern Conference Finals
The Trois-Rivieres Lions are now one of four teams still standing in the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Lions eliminated the Norfolk Admirals 6-3 Wednesday night at Colisee Videotron to take the North Division Finals series 4-2. Head coach Ron Choules' squad came out strong in a back-and-forth battle, taking an early lead two minutes into the game when Andrew Coxhead beat Admirals goaltender Thomas Milic top shelf with a wrister from the left-wing circle. The Admirals responded with two goals of their own to take a brief lead before the end of the opening frame. Connor Fedorek blasted home his first goal this postseason off an offensive zone faceoff to tie things up 1-1. Shortly after, Justin Young redirected a feed from Josh McDougall out front to give Norfolk a 2-1 lead. It was Young's first of the post-season and a key momentum swing for the Admirals. The Lions regained momentum late in the first period but were unable to capitalize again before the intermission. The second period saw Trois-Rivières carry their momentum forward with two unanswered goals to retake the lead. Five minutes in, the Lions capitalized on a loose puck in the Admirals' defensive zone as Chris Jandric found the net to tie the game 2-2. Midway through the frame, Jakov Novak gave Trois-Rivières a 3-2 lead with a shot from the slot, putting the home side back in front. Norfolk managed to tie the game once more after a puck deflected off Jandric's skate and found its way past Lions goaltender Luke Cavallin. Nicolas Guay gave the Lions a 4-3 lead early in the third period, beating Milic with a shot over the right shoulder. The Admirals pushed hard in search of the equalizer, generating pressure throughout the frame, but the score held as the clock wound down. With under two minutes remaining, the Lions extended their lead on a goal from Anthony Beauregard, sealing the game and the series. Beauregard scored his second of the game on an empty-netter to seal the 6-3 final, ending the Admirals' season. Trois-Rivières now advances to face the three-time defending Kelly Cup champion Florida Everblades in the Eastern Conference Finals. Game 1 will take place Saturday at Hertz Arena in Estero, with puck drop scheduled for 7 Pm ET.

Goaltending Duel Gives Lions a 3-2 Edge In North Division Finals
The Trois-Rivieres Lions have put themselves in the driver's seat of the Kelly Cup North Division Finals with a 1-0 overtime shutout of the Norfolk Admirals Sunday at the Norfolk Scope Arena. It was as tough and tight a contest as one might expect from a playoff hockey series. It also didn't take long for things to get chippy. From the opening faceoff, German Yavash energized the fans at the Scope by dropping the gloves with Morgan Adams-Moisan, showcasing a spirited exchange. The opening 20 minutes went by with no scoring and few shots, with the Admirals outshooting Trois-Rivieres 5-3. Trois-Rivières picked up momentum in the second period. They put pressure on Admirals goaltender Thomas Milic, who came into the contest second in the post-season with a .958 save percentage. But the Norfolk netminder stood tall. At the other end, Luke Cavallin remained flawless, turning aside all six shots he faced in the frame. The Lions had the edge in shots 9-6 in the period. Both teams had solid scoring opportunities in the third period, including on the power play, but neither was able to light the lamp by the end of regulation. The scoreless tie heading into overtime marked the first time in ECHL post-season history that three games in a series would be decided by a 1-0 final score. In overtime, the Lions had two significant scoring opportunities, but Milic, along with the Admirals' defense, successfully thwarted the ensuing threats. The Admirals subsequently generated several chances of their own, yet Cavallin was able to deny both attempts. It wasn't until the final seconds of the first overtime period that the tie was finally broken, when Anthony Beauregard delivered another clutch playoff goal off a feed from Jakov Novak from a turnover, sealing the win for the Lions. The series now shifts back to Trois-Rivières for Game 6 on Tuesday night at Colisée Vidéotron. Puck drop is set for 7 Pm ET. If necessary, Game 7 will also be played in Trois-Rivières.

Norfolk Holds Off Lions, Ties North Division Finals at 1-1
The Winnipeg Jets weren't the only club within their organization to get a playoff win on Sunday. Their ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, held off a valiant third-period comeback to edge the Trois-Rivieres Lions 4-3 in their best-of-seven North Division Finals series. While it wasn't the amazing comeback the Jets staged in their 4-3 double-overtime Game 7 victory over the St. Louis Blues, it brought the Admirals even in the series with the Lions 1-1. All four Admirals goals came on the power-play. Both teams generated quality scoring chances in the opening period. Trois-Rivières was first to get on the scoreboard with their own power-play goal from Morgan Adams-Moisan. However, Norfolk responded with two quick goals in the final 20 seconds of the period—both coming on the man advantage. The first came during a 5-on-3 after Hank Crone netted his first of the post-season on a one-time set up by Bryce Brodzinski, tying the game at 1-1. During a 5-on-4 11 seconds later, Ryan Chyzowski unleashed a one-timer of his own to give the Admirals a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Brodzinski scored his second goal of the postseason, and second point of the afternoon on yet another power play. He put in a tap-in shot through the five-hole. The initial call was a goal, and after review, it was confirmed, extending Norfolk's lead to 3-1. With less than three minutes remaining in the period, Chyzowski delivered a perfect pass to a streaking Brandon Osmundson, who fired in the one-timer to make it 4-1 heading into the third. This goal also came on the power play, marking the Admirals' fourth power-play tally of the game. In the third period, Anthony Beauregard cut the Lions' deficit to 4-2 83 seconds in with a power-play goal. Then, with five minutes remaining, Tyler Hylland brought Trois-Rivières within one. Despite a strong push in the final moments, the Lions could not find the equalizer, and the 4-3 final held up. Thomas Milic continued his strong postseason form, turning aside 24 of 27 shots in his sixth consecutive playoff start. The series now shifts to Norfolk Scope Arena for Games 3, 4, and 5. Game 3 is Thursday, with puck drop set for 7:05 Pm ET.
