Liverpool Confirm Plans for Premier League Trophy Celebrations
Liverpool's Premier League Coronation: What to Expect at Anfield on Trophy Day As the Premier League season draws to a triumphant close, Liverpool supporters are preparing for a moment of pure celebration. Anfield is set to transform into a stage of glory on Sunday, when the Reds officially lift the Premier League trophy after their final fixture of the season against Crystal Palace. With kick-off scheduled for 4pm BST, the day promises emotion, pageantry and history in equal measure. Advertisement This title, claimed with weeks to spare, is not just a testament to the consistency and character of the squad, but also a defining achievement for Arne Slot. The Dutchman, in his debut season at Liverpool, has delivered the one thing fans crave above all – the Premier League crown. For a club of Liverpool's stature, it is a moment to savour, especially with the passing of the managerial baton from Jürgen Klopp now complete. Ceremony Follows Full-Time Final Whistle As soon as the final whistle is blown at Anfield, the celebratory machinery will swing into motion. Liverpool players and staff will briefly return to the dressing room while preparations begin for the formalities on the pitch. A stage will be assembled near the centre circle, setting the scene for what is to come. Roughly 10 minutes after the match ends, the squad will reconvene in the tunnel area. Then comes the ceremonial walk of the Premier League trophy onto the pitch. In a nod to tradition and anticipation, the silverware will make its way out before the team does. This is not merely logistical, but symbolic – it sets the stage for the champions to emerge and claim their prize. Advertisement Arne Slot will be the first to be introduced to the Anfield faithful, followed by each player stepping forward to receive their individual medal. The crescendo arrives when Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool captain and defensive lynchpin, steps up to lift the trophy. At that point, expect the volume at Anfield to hit fever pitch. Photo: IMAGO Celebrations Continue with Lap of Honour The lifting of the Premier League trophy is just the beginning of the final act. Once the presentation concludes, media interviews with key figures from the squad will follow. Then, approximately nine minutes after the official lift, the team will begin their traditional lap of honour, making their way around the Anfield pitch to thank the supporters. Advertisement The lap, which is expected to last around 20 minutes, offers players a rare chance to connect with the crowd in an unfiltered and joyous setting. It's also a time to recognise any individual accolades. Mohamed Salah, in particular, will be in the spotlight, with the Egyptian star in contention for both the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards. If secured, they will likely be presented during this celebratory circuit. Anfield Ready for One More Unforgettable Memory Few stadiums in world football are as steeped in emotion and history as Anfield. Sunday promises to add another glorious chapter. While trophies and medals are tangible symbols of success, it's the moments that surround them – the roar of the crowd, the smiles, the shared pride – that linger far longer in the memory. Arne Slot's achievement will rightly be heralded, not just for securing Liverpool the Premier League title, but for doing so with a blend of tactical discipline and emotional intelligence. This is a squad that believed, competed and ultimately conquered. And on Sunday, under the Merseyside sun, they will have their crowning moment. For the Liverpool faithful, it is time to bask in the glow of a title-winning campaign – a feat earned not just by skill on the pitch, but by unity, resilience and a hunger to be the best.

Celtic starting XI for Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen
Celtic are aiming to create more history this afternoon when they take on Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden. Victory for Brendan Rodgers' side would secure a historic ninth treble for Celtic, while the Irishman would become the first Hoops boss to achieve that feat on three occasions. And the Celtic manager has named the same starting XI which started Trophy Day against St Mirren last weekend. The Scottish Cup final at Hampden kicks off at 3pm and you can follow the build-up and all the action on the club website's Match Centre. MATCH CENTRE CELTIC: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, Engels, Bernardo, Kuhn, Idah, Sinisalo, Trusty, Yang, McCowan, Schlupp, Kenny, Forrest, Ralston Aberdeen Vs. The 'technically unbelievable' Celtic fringe man who Adam Idah can't stop raving about
Idah has backed his teammate to fill the void left behind by injured Reo Hatate Adam Idah has backed Paulo Bernardo to fill Reo Hatate's boots in this weekend's Scottish Cup Final. Crocked Hatate will miss Saturday's Hampden showpiece after a collision with Pape Habib Gueye in last week's 5-1 rout at Pittodrie. Bernardo was given the nod ahead of Luke McCowan on Trophy Day as the four-in-a-row champions wrapped up the Premiership campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to St Mirren. The ex-Benfica starlet had a major role to play in last year's dramatic win over Rangers as Idah tapped home the Portuguese playmaker's parried shot to become the Cup Final hero. And Idah believes Bernardo is more than capable of stepping in for classy Hatate as Brendan Rodgers' side chase a Treble. He said: "Yes. Paulo's been brilliant. I've said it to anyone who asks me, Paulo's one of the best players in the squad. "He's technically unbelievable. "You see it in training week in, week out. He's a fantastic player but at the same time, no matter who's behind me or who's there, I think I've got as much confidence in everyone. "We've got such a fantastic squad. "Anyone that's playing on the park, I trust and I believe they can create stuff." Reo Hatate lands blockbuster Celtic transfer counsel as cryptic Greg Taylor clue surfaces amid cut price Kyogo talks
The Scottish Cup final stands between the Hoops and a busy summer of transfer business Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate has been told a move to Serie A would be the perfect fit by Brazil legend Zico. The 27-year-old has impressed once again for Celtic this term - helping the club to the brink of a domestic Treble this season as well as make a mark on the Champions League. However, the Japan international will miss the Scottish Cup final having been spotted with crutches during Saturday's Trophy Day celebrations by the Premiership champions. But for Zico - who managed the Japanese national side while also playing for Udinese - isn't deterred by the knee injury. Amid reports his former club sent scouts to watch Hatate earlier this season, the Brazilian reckons a move to Italy would be the perfect fit. He told the Sunday Post: "I spoke recently about Hatate with Toru Oniki, his coach at (Kawaski) Frontale (Hatate's former club. for years. "He told me that he was a strong, fast player with a winning mentality, who has already won a lot in his career. "He said he is an excellent player, highly regarded, who can operate well in any position across the midfield. "All indications are he could do very well. Certainly, I would imagine in Italy, especially with a team like Udinese, where he would have time to settle in better." Greg Taylor has yet to pen a new deal with just one game left on Celtic's calendar this season. Kieran Tierney is set to return this summer - and while Brendan Rodgers has insisted he wants to keep Taylor at the club a contract agreement has not been reached. Following the Celtic Park celebrations after a fourth consecutive Premiership triumph, Taylor wrote 'lived it and loved it' alongside several photos from the trophy presentation. Some fans have taken the post as a hint that the Scotland international will leave Celtic Park as a free agent - with teammate Alistair Johnston responding to the 27-year-old's post with an image of a child wiping away tears Things don't always go to plan away from Celtic - as Kyogo Furuhashi knows all too well. The 30-year-old has endured a nightmare spell with Stade Rennes after he left the Hoops behind in January. With the Ligue 1 season now over, reports suggest the frontman could be moved on in a cut-price deal. Ouest-France report Rennes will accept a "fraction" of the £10million they paid for Celtic after he failed to impress Habib Beye. Following the final day defeat to Marseille, Beye admitted he would sit down with fringe men to discuss their futures. He said: "There will be a lot of changes within the club. "We will now be able to sit down and discuss the club's ambitions for next season, to know where everyone wants to go, who wants to be 100% part of the Stade Rennes project."

Celtic Trophy Day in pictures
It's now an annual occurrence but it never gets old for Celtic fans. Trophy Day is less about the game than the build up and the celebrations afterwards. Brendan Rodgers and his squad walked the Premiership trophy up the Celtic Way as they made a grander than usual entrance. Then there was 90 minutes against St Mirren to get through, ideally for the hosts with three points at the end of it and no injuries ahead of next week's Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen. That was achieved and then the real fun could begin. The party will continue into the evening on the streets around Merchant City and the Trongate, but the actual prize was on show and shared with the fans inside Parkhead. Record Sport has collated the celebration pics from the stadium.
