Two 17-year-olds arrested in Columbus North Side shooting that killed one
Police arrested two teens in connection with a shooting that killed one person and injured another on Columbus' North Side. A 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl face murder and felony assault charges in the May 4 shooting, Columbus police said in a statement released May 21. Ariyaun M. Burton, 17, and another male were found with gunshot wounds at about 4 a.m. in a Toyota Rav4 SUV at the Sheetz on the 900 block of East Dublin-Granville Road. Both victims were transported to local hospitals, and Burton died shortly after. The other victim survived the shooting. The shooting happened in a nearby residential neighborhood on the 900 block of East Lincoln Avenue, police said. Trotwood Police Department arrested the girl and Columbus SWAT officers arrested the boy in Columbus. Investigators did not disclose when police took the teens into custody. Driver ‘intentionally' hits man with car, police say
A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Trotwood last weekend, according to a Trotwood Police Department crash report. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The crash happened in a parking lot in the 4500 block of Salem Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on March 23. The Nissan left the scene before the officers arrived. Medics took the victim to Kettering Health Dayton with suspected serious injuries.
