Two 17-year-olds arrested in Columbus North Side shooting that killed one
Police arrested two teens in connection with a shooting that killed one person and injured another on Columbus' North Side.
A 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl face murder and felony assault charges in the May 4 shooting, Columbus police said in a statement released May 21.
Ariyaun M. Burton, 17, and another male were found with gunshot wounds at about 4 a.m. in a Toyota Rav4 SUV at the Sheetz on the 900 block of East Dublin-Granville Road. Both victims were transported to local hospitals, and Burton died shortly after.

Paramedics took both victims to local hospitals, and Burton died shortly after. The other victim survived the shooting.
The shooting happened in a nearby residential neighborhood on the 900 block of East Lincoln Avenue, police said.
Trotwood Police Department arrested the girl and Columbus SWAT officers arrested the boy in Columbus. Investigators did not disclose when police took the teens into custody.

Procession across central Ohio honors Morrow County deputy killed while responding to call
Hundreds took part in a procession Wednesday to honor fallen Morrow County Sheriff's Office deputy Daniel Sherrer, who was killed Memorial Day while responding to a domestic violence call in Marengo. There he encountered Brian Michael Wilson, 53, who has been charged with aggravated murder in his death, according to court records. Wilson threatened Sherrer several times before the two exchanged gunfire, killing Sherrer and injuring Wilson, according to an arrest affidavit. Wilson was transported to a local hospital after the shooting, and an initial court date in his case hasn't been set. Wilson had a history of domestic violence and firearm convictions from 1994 to 2009 when he lived in Marion and had been barred from owning firearms. He used two handguns to shoot Sherrer, according to an account of the shooting contained in a police affidavit. VIDEO: People mourn sisters killed in Logan County crash LOGAN COUNTY, Ark. – Arkansas State Police have arrested two people after a multi-vehicle crash in Logan County that killed two sisters last week. State police said a 16-year-old is facing two counts of manslaughter in connection with the crash. People across Arkansas mourning sisters killed in Logan County multi-car crash Police added that 71-year-old Martha Jane Phillips is also facing two counts of manslaughter for her alleged role in furnishing a vehicle to a minor without a driver's license. Authorities said the multi-vehicle crash happened on State Highway 109 at the Morrison Bluff Bridge at around 11:15 p.m. on May 30. According to ASP officials, a Chevrolet Camaro, driven by the 16-year-old, was traveling southbound on Highway 109 at over 150 miles per hour when it rear-ended a Toyota RAV4, driven by 20-year-old Mackenzie Arthur. The collision, officials said, forced the RAV4 into the northbound lane where it collided head-on with an oncoming 18-wheeler. Officials said Arthur and her 17-year-old sister, Maddie Arthur, were killed in the crash. Hudson motorcyclist dead after collision with SUV in Litchfield
A 41-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday night after striking the rear of an SUV that was backing onto a highway in Litchfield, police said. Jean Lopes of Hudson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near 519 Charles Bancroft Highway, according to the Litchfield Police Department. Police said the collision occurred when a Toyota RAV4 was reversing onto the highway and was struck from behind by Lopes's Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Lopes was found unresponsive in the roadway. "Witness accounts suggest the RAV4 was in the process of reversing onto Charles Bancroft Highway when it was struck from behind by the motorcycle," police said. The Litchfield Police Department is investigating the crash with assistance from the Hudson Police Department's Crash Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
