Trump pardoned NBA YoungBoy. Now the rapper has added a 2nd Phoenix concert
Chart-topping rapper NBA YoungBoy, who recently made headlines when President Donald Trump pardoned him on federal gun charges, has added 13 shows to his highly anticipated 2025 MASA TOUR, including a second metro Phoenix concert. A new date has been added at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025. That's in addition to the previously announced show at PHX Arena on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025. The Louisiana rapper, also known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, was serving a 23-month sentence for federal gun charges when he received a presidential pardon in May. The MASA Tour is short for the Make America Slime Again Tour. In December, a federal judge in Utah sentenced NBA YoungBoy to 23 months in prison on gun-related charges with credit for time served followed by 60 months of probation and an additional $25,000 fine after the Louisiana rapper acknowledged possessing weapons despite being a felon, agreeing to give up the guns. Before reaching a plea agreement, he was facing maximums of 10 and 15 years each on two separate gun charges — one for being in possession of two guns while filming a music video in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the other for having a semi-automatic pistol in his Utah home. In late March, the rapper was transferred from a federal prison in Alabama to halfway house in Phoenix. Officially released on probation in April, he received a pardon from President Donald Trump in May. NBA YoungBoy was taken into custody after a raid on his Utah home turned up a semi-automatic pistol in his bedroom and evidence pointing to his role in what prosecutors alleged was a large-scale prescription drug fraud ring. NBA YoungBoy has no No. 1 his. He has, however, topped the Billboard album charts with four releases — two mixtapes and two studio releases. Tickets to the second NBA YoungBoy concert will be available starting with an artist presale on Wednesday, June 4. "I'm going to need Cory Booker to set aside 26 hours to deliver a senate floor speech explaining why he voted to confirm a literal convicted felon to a diplomatic post," one user said, referring to the senator's record-breaking speech made earlier this year. Future of Adams Morgan ‘streateries' in limbo heading into busy spring tourism season
WASHINGTON () — The future of a popular outdoor dining program in the District is in limbo, awaiting the green light from the city's top office to move forward. The launch of a permanent 'streatery' program 'has been postponed to an undetermined date,' according to the District's Department of Transportation's (DDOT) website. Temporary streateries, or patio dining spaces that occupy part of the roadway in front of businesses, came about during the pandemic. The pilot program along 18th St. in Northwest saw success and demand for a permanent program. Over the last several years, guidelines and regulations for a more permanent streatery program District-wide had been developed and recently adopted. The Adams Morgan Partnership BID said these regulations and guidelines were supposed to take effect on Jan. 1, but Mayor Muriel Bowser halted the program. DC Public Schools investigated by US Department of Education after disability discrimination reported The BID said that without the go-ahead, there's not a clear path forward for how businesses can finish the permanent structures and come into compliance with the new regulations. 'What that means is that the businesses can't get new permits. They can't get electrical permits to put lights and heaters out on the street, and they can't make other modifications,' said Kristen Barden with the BID. It's unknown as to why the program was halted and what could be holding up the green light from city officials. The program's future isn't certain, and it's causing stress for business owners who rely on the customers those streateries bring in. Thewodros Yirdaw is the owner of Tsehay Ethiopian on 18th St. where the streatery represents a big chunk of his business. 'It's about 10 more tables, about 10, four, tops. That's 40 people. Turn that over twice or three times in a night; that's substantial. Getting this resolved as soon as possible would really help us,' Yirdaw said. 'The whole industry is struggling right now.' He said winter and early spring are tough on the restaurant business in this area, but the spring tourism boom and Cherry Blossom season are fast approaching, hopefully bringing more foot traffic into Adams Morgan. 'We were hoping to use the outdoor space to rebound, like the patio and the streateries. There's not guidance on if we should apply for permits or not,' he said, also adding that some of those permits are set to expire soon. Our goal is to support all stakeholders as they provide safe, accessible, equitable outdoor dining options. Threat prompts evacuation at Joint Base Andrews
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. () — A military base in Prince George's County was evacuated Tuesday morning after receiving a threat. A spokesperson confirmed that received the threat at about 10:30 a.m. As a result, the Jones Building was evacuated out of an abundance of caution. Security forces and emergency officials conducted procedures to address the incident, but, as of 5 p.m., nothing had been found and all personnel were safe. Police: 3 teens arrested for sexually assaulting girl in Woodbridge, recording assault
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. () — Officials with the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said three teenagers were arrested for sexually assaulting a girl in early February. PWCPD said the assault happened at a home in the 2200 block of W. Longview Drive in Woodbridge on Feb. 8. Investigators learned the victim – who is under the age of 18 – was sexually assaulted by multiple people. The suspects involved reportedly also recorded the assault. She was treated at a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
