Orlando Pirates news: Mashiloane and Sebelebele

Orlando Pirates defender Tshepho Mashiloane has probably had the worst start among the club's 12 new signings. After starting the first three games of the season against Polokwane City, Sekhukhune United, and Marumo Gallants, the Orlando Pirates defender was dropped for the Mamelodi Sundowns game. The right back's former coach, Dan Malesela, has watched Mashiloane's rocky start in Soweto and has offered the reasons behind the 23-year-old's struggle. 'When you embark on a new journey, people will always question everything you do,' Malesela said…Full story here. The versatile forward joined the Betway Premiership giants this July after switching from TS Galaxy. Last season, Sebelebele made 29 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with five goals and two assists under coach Adnan Beganovic. That form was enough to prompt a call from the mighty Orlando Pirates. 'He is a technically gifted player, you know. But what does he bring? He brings aggression…Full story here. Orlando Pirates XI next season with two brand new signings

Orlando Pirates want to strengthen their full-back, central midfield and striking options to mount another title charge next season. Masindi Nemtajela is the expected marquee signing in the middle of the park. Tshepho Mashiloane will provide versatility and relative youth in defence. Chaine; Van Rooyen, Sesane, Mbokazi, Mashiloane; Nemtajela, Mbatha; Nkota, Maswanganyi, Mofokeng; Mabasa. Left-back is an interesting situation with Innocent Maela and Paseka Mako both already gone. Deon Hotto has been the incumbent in that role, although it's still not his favourite position. Tshepho Mashiloane can cover both full-back positions, so his imminent arrival will be a boost. Remember, Thabiso Monyane also ended his 13-year stay with the club. 'Orlando Pirates are emptying the recycling bin now' Pirates find 'the new Tlou Segolela' AmaZulu winger Tshepang Moremi. However, there are a couple of key areas needing improvement. 24-year-old Marumo Gallants midfield general Masindi Nemtajela is seen as a natural successor to the impressive but ageing Makhehlene Makhaula. The all-action schemer claimed a goal, two assists and four yellow cards in 17 league outings last term. Orlando Pirates transfers: Mako, Mashiloane, Appollis

Today's Orlando Pirates transfer wrap looks at both outgoings and potential incoming ahead of the new season. Paseka Mako leaves Pirates after seven years. Versatile defender Tshepho Mashiloane joins from Baroka. 31-year-old full-back Paseka Mako made 26 appearances across all competitions last term for Pirates. The compact left-sided star is much-loved by the fans. Another firm favourite, Deon Hotto, is 34 now and approaching the twilight of his stellar career. Is it foolish, therefore, to let go of Mako, who still has plenty to offer at this level? In their search for a prolific wide man, Chiefs have reportedly reignited their interest in Polokwane and Bafana star Oswin Appollis. The 23-year-old was in action for South Africa in a 0-0 draw against Tanzania. Appollis is also a target for Pirates. Click for the story What is there to know about 23-year-old Tshepho Mashiloane? Well, the versatile defender can operate at right-back or in central midfield. This will be a considerable boost for the Pirates technical team; although they have a strong squad at their disposal, both full-back positions are relatively weak spots after the release of Thabiso Monyane and Mako. With experience in the second tier, it's also hoped that he's ready for a battle. Click for a full profile Tshepho Mashiloane in action for Baroka FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Confirmed: Orlando Pirates to announce new player

Orlando Pirates fans have a new right-back to call their own. Tshepho Mashiloane is coming to Soweto. This will spell new competition for Deano Van Rooyen and Bandile Shandu. As reported in previous weeks, the Sea Robbers signed the 23-year-old Baroka FC star for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League. While the Orlando Pirates have yet to announce the news, Baroka FC's chairman, Khurishi Mphahlele, has confirmed that the deal has been completed. 'We still got to pay Mashiloane until the end of June, but Orlando Pirates have purchased Mashiloane for the coming season, not this season,' Mphahlele told iDiski Times . We can always make provision for that, but we are going to pay Mashiloane at the end of June because his contract ends at the end of June and the Pirates contract begins on the first of July. Sundowns star gives back to boys at his former school 'From the first of July he is an Orlando Pirates player, until then he's still our player and we pay him.' Orlando Pirates have wrapped up the signing of Tshepho Mashiloane from NFD outfit Baroka FC. What does he bring to the party? SABC Sport reported last month that Pirates had sealed a deal for Tshepho Mashiloane from Baroka. What is there to know about the 23-year-old? Well, the versatile defender can operate at right-back or in central midfield. This will be a considerable boost for the Pirates technical team; although they have a strong squad at their disposal, both full-back positions are a relative weak spot. With experience in the second tier, it's also hoped that he's ready for a battle. There are reports that Pirates are also close to wrapping up a deal for Baroka's winger Kabelo Kgositsile. He's opened up about the imminent move, which is a bittersweet one. Since making the step up from youth to senior football in 2025, Jaedin Rhodes has flourished. Rhodes can operate in several attacking midfield roles, either on the flanks or behind a central striker. He made 23 appearances in the 2024-2025 league season for the Citizens.
