When Hema Malini called Dharmendra ‘conservative'; revealed he never saw her stage performances: ‘He feels that I don't belong to him…'
Hema Malini
and
Dharmendra
are not just iconic stars but also one of Bollywood's most evergreen couples. They first met in 1970 on the set of 'Tu Haseen Main Jawaan', where they both starred as the leads. Spending time together during filming, they quickly grew close and fell in love by the end of the shoot.
Dharmendra, who was already a known face in the industry, was 45 when he married Hema Malini. The couple went on to have two daughters—Esha and Ahana Deol. Despite being a part of the film world, Dharmendra has always been known for being quite reserved and rooted in traditional values. This side of him was highlighted in an old interview when Hema Malini opened up about his conservative nature, especially regarding her stage performances.
'He feels that I don't belong to him'
In an old interview with Simi Garewal, the 'Dream Girl' actress revealed that he had never seen any of her live shows, even though they were famous across the globe. Hema said, 'He is very traditional and conservative. He hasn't seen any of my stage performances till date though they are extremely popular around the world.'
She further added, 'He feels I look very different on stage. He feels that I don't belong to him whenever I am performing.
