"The suspect's actions not only endangered themselves but also threatened the safety of other road users. We are actively working to locate the driver," he said in a statement on Sunday. The incident has raised concerns and sparked heated debate among the public after footage of the incident, recorded via a dashboard camera, went viral on social media. NIBONG TEBAL: Police have launched an investigation to locate the driver of a Toyota Harrier caught on video recklessly fleeing from a patrol vehicle in a high-speed chase that has since gone viral on social media. The 18-second dashcam video shows the sports utility vehicle dangerously weaving through traffic at the Jalan Paboi-Bukit Tambun intersection around 11.15am on Friday, in an attempt to evade police pursuit. Seberang Prai Selatan district police chief Superintendent Jay January Siowou confirmed that a police report has been lodged. He said investigations are underway under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of duties, and Section 279 for reckless driving. "The suspect's actions not only endangered themselves but also other road users. "We are actively working to locate the driver involved," he said.
