His body was taken to the Tuaran Hospital for further action. - Pic for illustration only Tuaran: A motorcyclist was killed and his pillion seriously injured in an accident along Jalan Kota Kinabalu –Tuaran near a petrol kiosk in Kampung Rugading, here, Azli Abdul Kadir, 22, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Advertisement His pillion, a 26-year-old man, from Lawas, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Tuaran Hospital for treatment. Tuaran District Police Chief Supt Noraidin Ag Maidin said the accident happened at about 5.55am when the victim, riding a Yamaha 15ZR motorcycle from Kota Kinabalu toward Tuaran, collided with the rear of a Perodua Alza driven by a 50-year-old man. The car driver who was heading to Kudat escaped injury. 'After hitting the right rear of the car, the motorcycle skidded into the right lane, crashed through a concrete road barrier and the victim was thrown and dragged more than 40 meters,' he said. The victim, who sustained a fractured left arm, was declared dead by medical officers at the scene. His body was taken to the Tuaran Hospital for further action. District police chief Supt Noraidin Ag Maidin said the Yamaha 15ZR ridden from Kota Kinabalu towards Tuaran collided with the rear side of a Perodua Alza at 5.55am before hitting a concrete barrier. Advertisement Mohd Azli suffered severe head and body injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while his 26-year-old pillion rider from Lawas, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Tuaran Hospital. The Alza driver, 50, was unhurt.
