Panthers announce change at LB in roster move on Sunday
The Carolina Panthers made a change to their roster coming off Saturday night's Fan Fest.
As announced on Sunday afternoon, the Panthers have signed veteran linebacker Krys Barnes.
A Bakersfield, Calif. native, Barnes attended UCLA from 2016 to 2019. There, he amassed 212 combined tackles (21 for a loss), 5.0 sacks and four interceptions over four years.
Barnes then cracked into the NFL as an undrafted free-agent signee of the Green Bay Packers. He'd go on to post 161 tackles between his first two pro campaigns, starting in 23 of his 29 games for Green Bay.
The 6-foot-2, 229-pounder has played his last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. 304 of his 509 total snaps in 2024 came on special teams.
To make room for Barnes, the Panthers waived rookie linebacker Tuasivi Nomura. Nomura signed with Carolina as an undrafted free agent this past article originally appeared on Panthers Wire: Panthers sign LB Krys Barnes, release rookie on Sunday
