A WOMAN who spent £4,500 getting the perfect Turkey teeth has hit back at trolls who say she's "ruined" her smile. Tara Omidi made the decision to get a full set of new gnashers after a UK dentist "failed" her and she had to have two teeth removed following a routine root canal. 6 6 6 6 "They were right at the back of my mouth and caused my remaining teeth to move away from the centre of my face, leaving me feeling very insecure when I spoke," Tara, from Oldham, Manchester, said. 'People would make indirect digs and tell me I had 'unique' teeth or comment 'Your teeth aren't in the middle, are they?' "I felt really insecure, my job is social media and I'm known for being the happy, always laughing person. 'It would make me so shy and I'd just crumble. 'I decided I was going to have them all shaved down, realigned and have crowns fitted." Despite the horror stories she'd heard about Turkey teeth gone wrong, Tara did her research and finally found a clinic she felt she could trust - with the positive reviews also reassuring her. She sent over pictures of her teeth, had an online consultation and flew to Turkey eight weeks later. However, Tara admitted she had no idea how painful the procedure would end up being. 'I felt I could trust the clinic as they were very thorough with their examinations and X-rays," she added to Need T oKnow. 'But it was painful - the actual fitting. 'People do lie about it and make out it is a breeze... I cried having them fitted!" Tara spent four days abroad, which included having the procedure, resting in her hotel room and a final check-in with the dentist. And she said that since heading back to the UK, "everything has been great". 'I love them - they have given me my confidence and smile back," she grinned. 'Of course you get trolls online saying horrible things but being online, people think they have the right to say and do nasty things – I couldn't care less. 'I do what makes me happy for me, not for other people.' Tara has faced cruel comments from trolls throughout her dental journey, and previously c ame under fire for a TikTok video which showed her teeth after they'd been filed down - before the crowns are fitted. Tara filmed the clip in her hotel room after she had her teeth filed down, which happens before the crowns are fitted. And the comments section was quickly filled with people slamming her for going ahead with the transformation. "You have ruined your own teeth," one sighed. "Jesus woman!" another added, as a third marvelled "I dunno how people can do this." "Give it a few months and you will be in horrendous pain!" someone else predicted. A WOMAN who has had not just one, but two sets of Turkey teeth, is now warning others against the procedure. Lisa Martyn, 51, from Ireland, claimed that not only was she left ' botched ', but she's also lost count of how many root canal procedures she has had, all of which have been at a huge expense to her. 2 2 Now, Lisa is on a mission to share the reality behind the popular procedure, as she claimed that in just six years time, before she is 60, she will have no choice but to have dentures. Posting on social media, the content creator got candid about her situation, as she said: 'I haven't spoken about it in a long time, but there are people flocking to Turkey to get their teeth done - lads, it's not a good idea. 'You can never again have a filling because all these teeth are connected, so the only treatments available to you are root canal treatments - I have lost count how many root canal treatments I've had done, at a cost to myself. 'They all do the same thing - botch you and once you do it, there's no going back.' Lisa explained that she had her first set of Turkey teeth for 11 years and then, in 2021, she had her second set fitted. She recognised that veneers should generally be replaced every 10 years, meaning that in six years, she will need to have them removed. However, she expressed that she has made the decision that when the time comes, she is going to get dentures, as she stressed: 'Because I fangs underneath, there aren't many options for me, and it's gonna be a financial cost to myself.' Lisa also claimed that when you have veneers, you mustn't ignore any pains, as infections can spread and affect other parts of your body. Now, Lisa has educated herself on the dangers of getting veneers in Turkey and questioned why she ever thought it was a good idea. Whilst she believes they 'look lovely', she stressed that her 'gums are receding', which brings up its own complications. I paid thousands for my Turkey teeth even though I know they're not even permanent - trolls say I should kill myself Not only this, but she explained: 'I can tell you now if you have trouble - you've got to pay for your own flight, you've got to pay for your own accommodation - the cost of everything now at the moment is just so high.' The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ lisamartyn883, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 71,400 views, 912 likes and 126 comments. I got £4K Turkey teeth even though they won't last past my 35th birthday – trolls say I'm still ugly & to kill myself
STARING at her newly filed down peg teeth, Lottie Carr knew there was no going back. She'd handed over £4,000 and flown 2,600 miles to achieve her dream of the perfect Turkey teeth, despite knowing they wouldn't be permanent. 8 8 8 Lottie wanted a new smile to repair her chips, cracks, staining and alignment issues. The 24-year-old from North Wales flew over 2,600 miles to realise her dream, despite being fully aware that her new tegs would only last 10 years. But while Lottie was well prepared for her short-lived smile, what she wasn't prepared for was the brutal trolling she would receive for it. Her TikTok video sharing her transformation has received over 28.9M views and 1.6M likes, but most of the attention was far-from positive. She explains: 'I knew the video of myself with shaved down teeth would likely invoke some kind of response as it was so outrageous, but I did not expect the video to have international reach and receive the amount of negativity that it did. 'I was told to kill myself, that I've ruined my life, that I am still ugly after the procedure and that I'm a bad influence to young and impressionable viewers. 'I don't think a lot of people share the 'during' phase of this procedure online so [people] don't actually see what is done to create the 'perfect Hollywood smile'. 'I didn't really have any major concerns with my teeth until very recently. 'I had chips, cracks, staining and alignment issues and just wanted the perfect smile.' Lottie was quoted £9,900 for her crown veneers in the UK and comparatively, her bill in Turkey came to around £4,000. She says: 'I had 10 crowns on the top and 10 crowns on the bottom. 'There was also a possibility that I was going to need three root canals but they managed to avoid this on the day, luckily. 'My teeth were all shaved down and reshaped to enable the crowns to slot over the top to ensure they seal properly. 'It was uncomfortable but not painful in the slightest as I was injected with anaesthetic. 'I did not feel any sensitivity and it was virtually a pain-free process. 'I was at the dentist for four days in a row but only a few hours each day. 'I do get a lot of anxiety that I'm going to lose one, or stain one, or that I'm going to suffer with sudden pain etc – but it has only been a few weeks since the procedure so it is something I need to get used to. 'I am so happy with the results. 8 8 8 'In person, I have had 100% positive reactions.' Lottie, who describes herself as a 'very spontaneous person', made the decision to have her teeth done just a few months ago. She knows she'll likely have to return in a decade to get them redone but isn't bothered about it. She adds: 'I started looking at some TikToks of the procedure before I flew out and seeing other people's teeth shaved down started to make me feel nervous, I'd not seen it before. '[But] I think life is short and we should be able to do whatever we want with our own bodies, providing it is safe. 'I made sure that the clinic I chose uses high-quality materials and that the dentist is properly trained, licensed, and experienced.
