Who will replace Pam Bondi as Attorney General? Indian-origin Harmeet Dhillon among top names amid Epstein backlash

The United States Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation recently concluded that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein did not have a "client list," thereby contradicting earlier statements made by Attorney General Pam Bondi, who claimed that such a list was 'on her desk.' Following this, Bondi faced severe criticism, with some MAGA loyalists even demanding her resignation regarding her handling of the Epstein case. Amid the speculations over Bondi's exit, several individuals have been considered as potential candidates for the position of Attorney General. Laura Loomer, MAGA loyalist, claimed on X that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is a leading contender. In a post on the social media platform X, Loomer wrote,'If Blondi is fired, I'm told @Ron DeSantis has been considered/floated for the role of Attorney General by some over the last few months." She further wrote, 'There's also a private push behind the scenes by some GOP donors who want to see Ken Paxton as AG, but he has US Senate aspirations. However, discussions have been taking place for several months about who could be Blondi's replacement if she ever was fired or resigned. She has not done a good job as AG and everyone knows it." Meanwhile, Megyn Kelly suggested Jeanine Pirro and Harmeet Dhillon as suitable candidates at Friday's Turning Point UK summit. "Jeanine Pirro is totally confirmable. She will be great," Kelly said at Friday's Turning Point USA summit. 'Harmeet Dhillon could also do it.' Former Congressman George Santos suggested Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) as a possible contender for Attorney General. In a post on X, Santos wrote,'Matt Gaetz is MIA at Turning Points USA tonight! Something is in motion!' However, when a social media user noted that the role Attorney General needs confirmation of the Senate, Santos replied, 'Well he can serve 120 days as interim AG and that's enough to clear this mess up no?' Matt Gaetz to replace Pam Bondi as AG? George Santos' X post sparks speculation

Calls for Attorney General Pam Bondi's resignation are intensifying following backlash over her handling of the Epstein case. A CNN report revealed that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is considering stepping down after a heated internal clash with Bondi over the matter. Rumors also suggest that FBI Chief Kash Patel may follow suit if Bongino resigns. George Santos has fueled rumors that Matt Gaetz could replace Pam Bondi.(Reuters) This internal upheaval comes days after the US Department of Justice and FBI concluded that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein did not possess a so-called 'client list,' contradicting Bondi's earlier claims. She had previously stated on Fox News that such a list was 'on her desk.' George Santos fuels Matt Gaetz speculation Amid the chaos, a post on X by former Congressman George Santos has gone viral, sparking speculation that Rep. Matt Gaetz could be in line to replace Bondi, 'Matt Gaetz is MIA at Turning Points USA tonight! Something is in motion!' he wrote. The post quickly racked up thousands of comments. One person wrote, 'Gaetz as an interim would be awesome. That require no confirmation process. Once he has to leave, you could insert Ed Martin or any other number of people and just keep a good rotation in!' Another commented, "If Bondi had to resign could Gaetz be temporarily put in as "acting AG" without congressional approval?" A third person wrote, 'Now, that would be a dream come true. I just hope that Susie Wiles doesn't have a say in any decision that needs to be made on this.' When someone noted that the role requires Senate confirmation, Santos replied, 'Well he can serve 120 days as interim AG and that's enough to clear this mess up no?' Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson weigh in During Friday's Turning Point USA summit, Megyn Kelly directly blamed Bondi for the Epstein files debacle. 'I blame Pam Bondi!' she said. 'She has never missed an opportunity to go on TV and dangle sweet nothings.' Tucker Carlson, speaking at the same event, made headlines of his own, claiming Jeffrey Epstein was likely 'working on behalf' of Israel. "The real answer is, Jeffrey Epstein was working on behalf of intel services, probably not guy had direct connections to a foreign government. Nobody's allowed to say that foreign government is: Israel," he said.

Gavin Newsom Gives Props to Conservatives Like Charlie Kirk for ‘Flooding the Zone,' Reveals Teen Son Is a Fan

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is officially a podcaster now, with the first episode of his new program releasing on Thursday. On the show, aptly-if-unoriginally dubbed 'This Is Gavin Newsom,' the prominent Democrat was joined by conservative influencer and Turning Points USA co-founder Charlie Kirk. 'You are making a damn dent' in the culture wars, Newsom told Kirk, while adding that his 13-year-old son is a big fan. Newsom's maiden voyage as a side-hustling podcaster also made some political news. The governor said he 'totally' agreed with Kirk that transwomen should not play in women's sports — breaking with Democrats on the hot-button issue. 'I think it's an issue of fairness. I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness — it's deeply unfair,' Newsom said. 'I am not wrestling with the fairness issue.' He further said, at the same time, it is possible to not 'talk down to vulnerable communities' and also treat people with 'decency.' Newsom's answer comes after 45 Democratic Senators voted against a bill this week that would ban transwomen from playing in women's sports — an issue that President Trump discussed during his speech before Congress on Tuesday night. The 57-year-old Democrat also said he disagreed with former Bill Clinton strategist James Carville, who recently called for liberals to make a 'strategic political retreat'; Carville argued in The New York Times this would allow Democrats the chance to seize on potential miscues by President Trump that might hurt him in the American public's eyes. Newsom said he disagreed, stating that Democrats cannot afford to 'play dead.' He said he sees Kirk 'flooding the zone' with a steady diet of clips, campus visits and other moves to win over voters, and feels that is the winning formula. 'And then I'm thinking about we're going to stand back and watch you run circles around us for six months, the next two or three years, waiting for the moment to finally strike?' Newsom said. 'It struck me as not necessarily the best advice.' You can listen to the full 72-minute podcast on Apple or Spotify.
