Terengganu deny in talks to release winger Akhyar
KUALA NERUS: Terengganu have denied allegations that the club are currently in negotiations with Brunei for the transfer of their agile winger Akhyar Rashid. Their acting chief executive officer, Mohd Syahrizan Mohd Zain said that so far, no party had come forward with an official request, including the invited Super League team Brunei. He said the Kedah-born player has a contract with the Turtles until 2027 and remains in the team's main plans for the upcoming Malaysian League (M-League) season. 'The player (Akhyar) is still contracted until 2027. We have not received any official letter, let alone engaged in negotiations with Brunei regarding the player's transfer,' said Syahrizan. 'We consider the matter to be mere rumours and speculation on social media. Our focus is on building the team for the new season.' However, Syahrizan said that if any party was interested in acquiring their player, they must go through the correct channels and procedures as stipulated by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and the Malaysian Football League (MFL). According to him, the Turtles will only consider any transfer offers if the player is not in the coaching staff's plans for the 2025-2026 season. Akhyar, 26, joined Terengganu last season on a loan deal. During that period, he successfully scored 10 goals in the M-League and Shopee Cup competitions. — Bernama

Sad day as Argzim says bye after six years with T'ganu
PETALING JAYA: Footballer Argzim Redzovic (pic) brought an emotional chapter of his career to a close after nearly six years of loyalty, leadership, and lasting memories with Terengganu. The Montenegrin defender, who joined the Turtles in 2018, took to social media to express heartfelt gratitude to the club, his teammates and fans as he announced his departure, marking the end of his longest stint with any team. 'This is the most difficult part, saying goodbye to the team where I've spent the longest stretch of my career,' said the 32-year-old Redzovic. 'Nothing lasts forever, but I want to thank Terengganu for almost six incredible years. I was proud to wear the jersey and honoured to lead as captain of one of the biggest clubs in Malaysia.' Throughout his time with Terengganu, Redzovic became a rock in defence and a respected figure in the dressing room. His leadership, consistency, and passion on the pitch made him a fan favourite and a symbol of stability during a period of growth for the club. 'To our amazing fans, thank you for being there through the good times and the difficult ones. My family and I always felt Terengganu was home. It always will be,' he added. His departure comes at a time of transition for Terengganu, who finished fifth in the Super League this season. Despite falling short of the top-tier finish the team had hoped for, the management have chosen to retain Badrul Afzan Razali as coach. The 41-year-old tactician, who took over midway through the season, will now be entrusted with a stronger role heading into 2025, including a say in the upcoming transfer window, as the club look to rebuild and challenge for honours next season. With Redzovic moving on and Badrul's long-term vision now in focus, Terengganu face a new era, one that will aim to blend fresh faces with the fighting spirit that players like Redzovic embodied so well.

TURTLES® TEAMS UP WITH SHA'CARRI RICHARDSON TO PROVE EVERYONE WINS WHEN WE SLOW DOWN - EVEN THE FASTEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD
World Champion Sprinter & Iconic Chocolate Brand Invite Fans to Slow Down & Savor the Moment with New "It's Slow Good" Campaign WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., May 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Turtles®, the original caramel nut cluster and OG of slow since 1916, announces the brand's new "It's Slow Good" campaign in partnership with the fastest woman in the world, Olympic Gold Medalist, and current 100m World Champion, Sha'Carri Richardson. The campaign debut marks a new era for the heritage brand, tapping Sha'Carri to help connect to a culture obsessed with speed and hustle by demonstrating firsthand the oh-so-sweet benefits of slowing down. "Growing up, Turtles was always a treat – something we celebrated with," shares Sha'Carri Richardson. "So when the opportunity came to partner with Turtles, it just felt right. For me, it's not just candy – it's about connection. Every time I have Turtles, it takes me back, keeps me grounded, and reminds me to slow down and celebrate wins, both big and small." A perfect match, Richardson has captivated the world with her speed. However, it's her dedication to slowing down and savoring moments of peace and joy that makes this partnership feel so authentic. Just like the gooey, crunchy Turtles® cluster that can't be rushed, Sha'Carri shows how taking the time to be present – whether through stretching, painting, or otherwise – is worth slowing down for, even for the world's fastest woman. In the "It's Slow Good" spot launched on Turtles® and Sha'Carri's social channels today, the star athlete showcases a "slow day in the life" of the track star, which includes knitting, stretching, serving as a neighborhood crossing guard, and of course, indulging in a sweet treat with Turtles®. "With layers of rich chocolate, creamy caramel and crunchy pecans, you simply can't eat Turtles fast – it's an experience meant to be slowly savored," said Ahad Afridi, Chief Marketing Officer at pladis Americas. "We all feel like the world moves too fast – which is why we commissioned a survey to see just how big of a problem this is. We learned that the brand's message to slow down and enjoy the present is one that most of us could benefit from hearing." As part of the "It's Slow Good" campaign, Turtles® commissioned a survey sampling over 2,000 individuals across the United States ages 18 and up to gauge the pace of modern culture as well as the physical, mental and social tolls of fast-paced living. The results revealed that over 93% of Millennial and Gen Z Americans feel like they're living a hectic lifestyle and don't have enough time to slow down. And when they do find time to slow down, over 83% feel happier, calmer, or more present. Grounding in these cultural insights, the Turtles® partnership with Sha'Carri Richardson aims to convey to consumers – especially Millennial and Gen Z consumers – that while slowing down can sometimes feel like a luxury, finding even the smallest ways to pause and re-center can help remind us of what is truly valuable. Whether it's a daily treat or a special occasion, Turtles® makes your slow down moments delicious, so you can indulge in the present. Together, Sha'Carri and the iconic brand are inviting people everywhere to consider how they can treat themselves to the slowness they deserve – through presence, perspective, and a bite of something that's truly slow good. Sha'Carri Richardson Finds Time To Slow Down And Enjoy Some Chocolate
Sha'Carri Richardson grew up marking special moments with Turtles, a 'premium treat' she still ... More cherishes today. Sha'Carri Richardson has built her career on scorching speed. The record-breaking sprinter is the reigning 100m world champion, an Olympic gold medalist, and one of the most electrifying and talked-about athletes of her generation, known as much for her fierce determination as for her bold, unapologetic presence. But the track star is now exploring life in the slow lane. Richardson has teamed up with an unexpected partner, Turtles®, the original caramel nut cluster, to launch the brand's new 'It's Slow Good' campaign. 'Even in my journey right now as a competitor, I'm learning that slow good equals patience, equals clarity, as well as being able to actually take the time to process and to just be in the moment,' she reflected. For the Dallas, Texas, native, the pairing is also personally resonant. 'What made me say yes to the partnership is simply the connection to my childhood,' she shared with Forbes. Growing up, Turtles weren't just a snack; they were a sweet reminder of family traditions. One memory that lingers is shopping with her grandmother, when she was allowed to pick just one treat. 'I definitely remember picking up Turtles out of everything because I could only get one thing,' Richardson recalled. 'The combination of all my favorite things as a child was in that one snack. So it made sense.' In the spirit of savoring pockets of pause, Richardson also made a head-turning appearance at the 2025 Met Gala. Honoring the night's theme, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' she stunned in a custom Valentino look by Alessandro Michele, polished off with her iconic, intricately decorated acrylics. 'You know that I love my nails,' she added playfully. In this Q&A, Richardson chats about her dessert cravings, the parallels between the Met Gala and a track meet, and the powerful words she exchanged with Regina King. I'm a big baked goods person. This is something that [my mom] I would probably say chocolate—any chocolates. You know when you're checking out at the grocery store, you've got all the different chocolate bars at the front? As a child, chocolate was something that I loved to indulge in because it gave you a little bit of everything. It made me feel good, it filled me up, and it was something that there was plenty of. So even if I got one bar or one piece of chocolate, it was enough for me to make it last. Sha'Carri Richardson shows off her favorite Turtles treat. I am very into music. I like gospel, R&B, and old-school country; anything that makes me have a different feeling, that I can disconnect from the world almost. Another ritual that I have is speaking with my family. That's something that keeps me balanced. Just always being able to stay grounded, never forgetting where I come from, and getting that love poured back into me so I can be my best self in the world. Another ritual is, of course, practicing. Working out so I can always stay on top of my A-game when it comes to being the best competitor I can be. Another ritual that may seem random is reading. I feel like reading also helps me disconnect from social media, and not necessarily being in front of the TV. And just pouring back into myself and feeding my creativity as well. I love that. I'm a self-help reader. I like books that make me think, 'do I do that? How can I do that better? Or like, hmm, like maybe I shouldn't do that anymore. ' I love this question because I literally thought about this as I was on the carpet. It gave me almost the same adrenaline rush as being in the blocks—actually being in the call room. So, before I walked up to the carpet, we had to wait for a little while and standing there, it reminded me of being in a call room. Like, okay, this is a finale. This is a big show. This is the moment. Take a deep breath. Don't get too big. Don't get too low. Just stay right front row and center. Sha'Carri Richardson attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at ... More Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo byfor The Met Museum/Vogue) I partnered with Valentino's Alessandro Michele. The creation and the inspiration came from an era of Black feminine softness. Not just being Black and independent and strong, but being Black and fierce and knowing that is power and softness. We can continue to be our best selves, our strong selves, our fierce selves, but we can feel safe in what we do. We can feel graceful in this era of life. That's what inspired my look, down to the colors, the flow of the material, as well as the length and just the fullness of my hair. And of course, my grill and the nails. It was a moment of just recognition, almost. I felt like I was seen. I felt like I was understood as well. Not just as an inspiration, but almost like the passing of the torch. I feel like I met a lot of people from the Black generation. I had multiple conversations with Black women who I literally idolized. I had a conversation with Regina King that continued to let me know that exactly where I'm at, who I am, and what I stand for, and being grandma's baby, is something that not only is a story that inspired me and touched me to be who I am today, but [made] people see me and support me. That was a conversation I felt deeply within my heart. I was super excited to meet Savannah James. I did get a chance to meet her and give her flowers for being a Black queen that continues to lead in her own way, lead her family, and inspire women in all walks. No matter who they are or who they're married to, they continue to have their own image, their own identity, and their feminine power lies within themselves. I just had to let her know that she was an inspiration for me as a Black woman to become my best and fullest self, while having a Black king right by my side. I want to say chicken. That was really nice. It had a spicy taste to it, so I enjoyed that. I love spices. [Chef Kwame Onwuachi] did a great job with the creativity of his meals, but the taste was just as simple and delicious. I don't want to put limitations on what can be achieved this season, but just honestly being better than last season, continuing to develop my race pattern, continuing to run faster times, and continuing to broaden the access and the excitement that track and field has year-round and all the time and not just every four years. This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
