Sad day as Argzim says bye after six years with T'ganu
PETALING JAYA: Footballer Argzim Redzovic (pic) brought an emotional chapter of his career to a close after nearly six years of loyalty, leadership, and lasting memories with Terengganu.
The Montenegrin defender, who joined the Turtles in 2018, took to social media to express heartfelt gratitude to the club, his teammates and fans as he announced his departure, marking the end of his longest stint with any team.
'This is the most difficult part, saying goodbye to the team where I've spent the longest stretch of my career,' said the 32-year-old Redzovic.
'Nothing lasts forever, but I want to thank Terengganu for almost six incredible years. I was proud to wear the jersey and honoured to lead as captain of one of the biggest clubs in Malaysia.'
Throughout his time with Terengganu, Redzovic became a rock in defence and a respected figure in the dressing room.
His leadership, consistency, and passion on the pitch made him a fan favourite and a symbol of stability during a period of growth for the club.
'To our amazing fans, thank you for being there through the good times and the difficult ones. My family and I always felt Terengganu was home. It always will be,' he added.
His departure comes at a time of transition for Terengganu, who finished fifth in the Super League this season.
Despite falling short of the top-tier finish the team had hoped for, the management have chosen to retain Badrul Afzan Razali as coach. The 41-year-old tactician, who took over midway through the season, will now be entrusted with a stronger role heading into 2025, including a say in the upcoming transfer window, as the club look to rebuild and challenge for honours next season.
With Redzovic moving on and Badrul's long-term vision now in focus, Terengganu face a new era, one that will aim to blend fresh faces with the fighting spirit that players like Redzovic embodied so well.

KUALA LUMPUR: Motorcycle racer Hakim Danish Ramli is on track to becoming the first-ever Malaysian to win the Red Bull Rookies Cup title. With the season nearing the halfway mark, Hakim consolidated his position atop the championship standings after winning his first race of the season in Aragon, Spain (race two) yesterday (June 8). The 17-year-old now has 125 points to his name. Spanish duo Brian Uriarte (95 points) and Benat Fernandez (63 points) are second and third in the championship. Hakim dedicated his victory in Aragon, Spain to all Malaysians. Uriarte (+0.188s) and David Gonzalez (+0.195s) finished second and third in race two. "Obviously I'm really happy to win the race as it was quite challenging," said Hakim. "My tyre grip was fading so I had to manage it carefully and try my best to remain patient while staying with the lead group. "On the second last lap I made a mistake and forgot to downshift one more gear. I got overtaken and went down to seventh position. "I quickly focused on catching up and during the last corner was able to get on the throttle earlier and hit the line first. "Thank you to everyone who has supported me, this win is for all Malaysians." With four rounds and eight races remaining this season, the championship fight is far from over though Hakim's consistent performances this season will put pressure on his rivals. The Terengganu-born finished second in all his first five races of the season before winning yesterday. The Red Bull Rookies Cup is one of the key feeder series for the Moto3 World Championship. Former champions in the series who have gone on to shine include Johann Zarco, Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta, among others Last month Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chief executive officer Azhan Shafriman Hanif disclosed that Hakim essentially has a seat waiting for him in Moto3 next season but must first prove himself worthy of the slot. Hakim is a product of SIC's two-wheel talent development programme which is run by ZK Racing. Mugello will host the next round of the Red Bull Rookies Cup on June 21-22.

Adding to the cheers, this victory was his first win of the season and his second podium finish in the third round, after coming in second in the first race yesterday. In yesterday's second race, the 17-year-old rider, who started from seventh position, successfully overtook his opponents one by one and continued to show excellent riding skills in the last two laps to win the race with a time of 26 minutes 52.773 seconds (s). Spanish rider, Brian Uriarte, had to settle for second place, only 0.188 seconds (s) behind, while his compatriot David Gonzalez secured third place with a time of 26 minutes 52.968s. 'Yes, finally we get a P1. The race was fantastic for today and the race was quite difficult. The tyre dropped a lot but I could manage it. 'I would like to say thank my sponsors and my family and all my friends who supported me. And 'Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha' to all Malaysians,' he said immediately after the race. The victory achieved by Hakim Danish sees the Terengganu-born youngster extend his lead with 125 points, holding a 30-point advantage over Uriarte in second place. Dutch-born footballer impressed by Malaysia's Super League
KUALA LUMPUR: The Netherlands-born playmaker, Hector Hevel, is impressed by the standard of Malaysia's Super League. The 29-year-old said the competition was better than he expected. Hevel, who recently debuted for Harimau Malaya, confirmed he will be signing for Johor Darul Ta'zim following his stint in Portugal with Portimonense. "You can tell the quality of the Super League by the local boys in the national team," said Hevel. "They have a certain level and most of them play in the Super League, so it says something about the quality here." Hevel, whose grandfather is from Melaka, has featured in top-flight football across Europe. Still, he noted that the Super League here holds its own in terms of competitiveness and technical ability.
