Leaders from the technology and education sectors also attended the event. Tuwaiq Academy reported that the students completed a nine-month academic journey. The program included specialized training in app development, design, and entrepreneurship. It also focused on building leadership, creativity, and innovation. According to the academy, the curriculum encouraged self-directed learning and teamwork. Students developed app solutions for various sectors, aiming to serve different segments of society. During the event, Ohood Al-Nayel stated that the graduation reflects national support for the technology sector. She credited Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for driving digital progress in the Kingdom. Abdulaziz Alshamadi praised the academy's collaboration with Apple, calling it essential for shaping future business leaders in Saudi Arabia. Al-Nayel also highlighted the graduates' ability to turn ideas into functional apps. She emphasized their achievements in creativity and collaboration. New program to boost tech skills of Saudi leaders

RIYADH: Tuwaiq Academy has launched the Future Tech Leaders program, a six-month course designed to enhance the technical skills of professionals in leadership roles, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Sponsored by the National Technology Development Program and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the program is conducted in partnership with the University of California, Berkeley. It uses a hands-on learning approach to equip CEOs and IT managers with skills to keep pace with emerging technologies, according to the SPA. Databricks, a data and AI company, has announced plans to invest up to $300 million in Saudi Arabia over the next five years. This investment, announced at LEAP 2025, will be used to enable its growing local customer base to combine data, analytics and AI on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and will support the formation of strategic partnerships to upskill Saudi citizens with the latest skills in data engineering and AI. The data and AI company also announced a new training partnership with Tuwaiq Academy, which will be the first Databricks authorised training partner in the kingdom. These announcements follow the official opening of Databricks' new office in Riyadh in December 2024 and the welcoming of Mohammad Alzaubi as General Manager to lead operations locally. Introducing Data Intelligence Platform At LEAP, Naveen Zutshi, Chief Information Officer at Databricks, introduced Databricks' pioneering Data Intelligence Platform, highlighted recent business growth and discussed key investments in Saudi Arabia. The Databricks Data Intelligence Platform democratises access to data and AI, making it easier for organisations to harness the power of their data for analytics, machine learning, and AI applications. Built on an open source foundation, the platform enables organisations to drive innovation to increase revenue, lower costs, and reduce risk.
