Tree falls on car on A84 and tree removed from overhead railway line as Storm Floris batters Stirling

Main road routes in Stirling have been blocked as the storm continues to blow through the region. There are reports of multiple incidents on the A84 near Callander – including a tree falling on top of a car and a collision – as Storm Floris continues to batter the area. ‌ The A84 is currently blocked as a result of a fallen tree on the carriageway there, close to the Cambusmore and Keltie Bridge area. ‌ Stirling MSP Evelyn Tweed detailed how the tree landed on top of a vehicle, adding 'thankfully those in the vehicle have not been seriously injured'. ‌ Ms Tweed added: 'Please avoid the area at present. 'Wind gusts are anticipated to peak late afternoon and early evening so the risk of fallen trees, branches and debris remains for the remainder of the day. Please plan ahead and take care if travelling.' ‌ At around 1.20pm, Traffic Scotland provided details on a collision on the A84 at Keltie Bridge. By 2.25pm, they added: 'Road remains restricted in both directions due to a collision. 'Road users are advised to approach with caution and expect longer journey times.' Earlier in the day, a tree fell on to the overhead line at the Cornton level crossing in Stirling. Network Rail engineers attended the location on Monday morning and the broken tree, which had been straddling the overhead line was removed.
