Edinburgh wealth specialist opens sports arm in London
Tweed Wealth Management hailed the launch of a presence in the UK capital for the sports arm as a 'significant milestone' in its mission to provide professional athletes with the financial know-how they need both during and after their careers. The London base will be led by former professional rugby player and chartered financial planner Jason Baggott, who heads Tweed Sports jointly with Ross Penman. Mr Baggott said: 'We've seen first-hand how an increasing number of athletes, particularly in football and rugby, are actively seeking specialist financial guidance to assist them during and after their careers. Read more: 'Our expansion into London allows us to work even more closely with a growing client base and their wider support networks – from agents and accountants to legal and media teams. 'Athletes deserve financial advice that's bespoke to their world, along with clarity around its risks, rewards, and timelines. Our job is to help them maximise opportunities, avoid common pitfalls, and plan for long-term stability once they leave the field for the last time.' Edinburgh-based Tweed said the new London office, based in the heart of the city on Lombard Street, will offer specialist investment advice, support with retirement planning and inheritance tax strategies, and mortgage and protection solutions. It will collaborate with trusted sports accountants and lawyers to deliver a 'seamless, end-to-end wealth management service for clients in the sporting world,' the firm said. With clients from the worlds of football, rugby and boxing, Tweed said it was focused on expanding into golf, women's football, cricket, and other growing professional sports. Tweed Sports is part of Tweed Wealth Management, a financial advice firm which manages more than £500 million of assets.
