Man charged in shooting connected to Waynesboro road rage incident
The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested a man accused of shooting a juvenile in connection with a recent road rage incident.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 3, Waynesboro police responded to Moonshine Market at 1001 E. Main St. following a report of a gunshot victim. Police found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening. The teen was taken to UVA Health in Charlottesville.
Initial findings suggest the incident stemmed from a road rage altercation in the 700 block of North Commerce Avenue, police said.
On Aug. 7, Tyleik Cabell, 23, of Waynesboro, turned himself in at the Waynesboro Police Department. He is charged with maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle.
Following his arrest, Cabell was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
