Horry County motorcycle crash leaves 2 dead
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — An early morning motorcycle crash left two people dead in Horry County on Monday, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. Two people were riding on a 2004 Honda Motorcycle at 12:15 a.m. on Towne Centre Parkway near Breakers Drive, about three miles west of Myrtle Beach. The motorcycle was driving east when it went off the left side of the road and hit a curb before hitting a utility box, Sgt. Tyler Tidwell said. Both riders died at the scene. According to Horry County Fire Rescue, the roads were closed for an extended period of time following the crash. No further information was available at the time of this posting. Tesla driver killed after running off road near Kingstree, overturning in yard
WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The driver of a Tesla was killed Tuesday after running off a Williamsburg County roadway and hitting a parked vehicle. Sgt. Tyler Tidwell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2023 Tesla was heading west on New Zion Road near Green Road when it ran off the roadway, hit a culvert, and overturned into a yard. The vehicle then struck an unoccupied Chevrolet Silverado that was parked in the yard. Sgt. Tidwell said the driver of that Tesla, who was the one person in the vehicle, died at the scene. Their name has not yet been released by the Williamsburg County Coroner's Office. The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. 1 dead in overnight night crash on Highway 31 in Horry County
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was killed Sunday in an early morning crash on Highway 31 in Horry County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. It happened at about 2 a.m. near Highway 707 when a 2016 Hyundai Sonata traveling south went off the left side of the road and hit a concrete barrier, SCHP Sgt. Tyler Tidwell said. The car then went into the median and over an embankment before overturning, The driver was the only person in the car and died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Tidwell said.
