Today's NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Tuesday, July 29th

Looking for help with today's NYT Mini Crossword puzzle? Here are some hints and answers for the ... More puzzle. In case you missed Monday's NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here: It's Tyr's day, the one day of the week devoted to a Norse god almost nobody really remembers outside of fellow viking enthusiasts like your humble puzzle guide. Tyr was a god of war, similar—though distinct—to Mars in Roman mythology. It's no wonder Romance languages like Spanish pay homage to Mars on this day of the week. I guess Tuesday is for warriors. We are word warriors. The pen is mightier than the sword, after all. Let's use our wits to solve today's Mini Crossword. The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it's free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you'll need the app to tackle the archive. Spoilers ahead! Before we get to the answers, here's the first letter for each word in today's Mini. Across 1A. ___ Escola, Tony-winning portrayer of Mary Todd Lincoln in "Oh, Mary!" – COLE 5A. Tear to pieces, as documents or cheese – SHRED 6A. Gentle prod – NUDGE 7A. Enjoyed a home-cooked meal – ATE IN 8A. Sassy – PERT Down 1D. Ladder's counterpart – CHUTE 2D. Something taken by a server – ORDER 3D. The real deal – LEGIT 4D. The garden in "The Garden of Earthly Delights" – EDEN 5D. "___ out of it!" ("Wake up!") – RISE Today's Mini Some of these I had a pretty strong sense of right away, like SHRED and NUDGE for 5 and 6 Across, and then SNAP for 5 Down. I was less certain about 1-Across and had to basically fill in the blanks after plugging in a couple of DOWN words like ORDER, LEGIT and EDEN. For some reason, 'ladder's counterpart' evaded me until the end. Even when I had CHUT plugged in, the word 'CHUTE' just wouldn't pop into my brain—until it finally did. I also have to admit that I'm unfamiliar with the term PERT for sassy. You learn something new every day! This one took me 1: did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!

NYT ‘Strands' Today: Hints, Spangram And Answers For Tuesday, April 29th

Today's NYT Strands hints and answers Credit: New York Times Looking for Monday's Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here: Well it's Tuesday, a day named for the god Tyr from German and Norse mythology. A god of war. That's why most wars start on Tuesdays. Just kidding! I'm pretty sure any day is as good as another when it comes to war. Or as bad, as the case may be. But we're not here for gods or war, we're here to uncover words. Let's solve today's Strands, shall we? Strands is the newest game in the New York Times' stable of puzzle games. It's a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we're given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day's theme. Spoilers ahead. Here are some hints to help you solve today's grid. Today's Theme: I've got you covered Hint: Turtles and the like. Clue: But also peanuts. Here are the first two letters of each word: Remember, spoilers ahead! Today's spangram is: SHELLS Here's the full list of words: Here's the completed Strands grid: Today's Strands Credit: Erik Kain Other than the pretty easy spangram—SHELLS—this was a tricky Strands. For one thing, it was kind of a leap to get from 'I've got you covered' to 'things with shells' especially when some words were NUCLEUS or NAUTILUS. Some of these are food items, like TACO or WALNUT, while others, like ARMADILLO and TORTOISE are animals. I like a good, challenging Strands, however, so this was nice. How did you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook. Today's NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Thursday, April 17th

Looking for help with today's NYT Mini Crossword puzzle? Here are some hints and answers for the ... More puzzle. In case you missed Wednesday's NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here: Thor's Day is upon us, so I expect a little rain and thunder. What's the use of a day named after a god of storms if we don't get fun and exciting weather? Imagine a reality where each day conformed to its namesake. Sundays were always sunny. Mondays the sun didn't come out at all, and the moon was always full. I'm not sure we can quite pigeon hole the rest of the days as easily. Tuesday is named for Tyr, a god of war, so I suppose violent crime rates would go up. Freya is a fertility goddess, but I think Fridays are already carved out for lovers. I digress. More importantly than my endless musings about the days is this Mini Crossword we have to solve. Let's solve it! FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder 1- Person, ___ or thing — PLACE 6- Like someone you shouldn't trust with fragile objects — KLUTZY 7- A time to dye? — EASTER 8- Dangle a carrot in front of — ENTICE 9- Class for a cognitive science major, for short — PSYCH 1- Activities on the docket — PLANS 2- Full of sexual desire — LUSTY 3- Commonly cobwebby room — ATTIC 4- From Prague, say — CZECH 5- Jane in classic literature — EYRE 6- Not get rid of — KEEP Today's Mini This was a fun, somewhat tricky, Mini. 6-Across really threw me off. I went with CLUMSY, which fit for awhile until I needed 3-Down to be ATTIC. Then I went with CLUTZY because I forgot how to spell the word. The Easter references were nice. This one took me 1:34. How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
