CHELSEA have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign Jamie Gittens. Earlier this month, Dortmund turned down an offer worth £42m, and the two clubs were unable to agree a deal before the first window closed on 10 June. This eventual agreement comes amid rejecting their obligation to buy Manchester United. READ MORE CHELSEA Gittens contributed 12 goals and five assists in 48 games in all competitions for Dortmund last season. But the England U21 international and former Reading youth product has struggled with illness and hardly played in the USA. The Blues have already spent £1.4billion to assemble their current squad, but club transfer chiefs are desperate to bring their former youth star back home. Gittens, who previously had a very brief spell with Chelsea 's U9s, was part of the England side that won the U19 European Championships in 2022. Rumoured Real Madrid transfer target spotted wearing Blancos jersey
A head-turning photo of a reported member of the transfer wishlist at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this weekend come to the fore online. The player in question? Kees Smit. Smit, for those not familiar with his name, is a 19-year-old midfielder, who is currently plying his club trade in his home country of the Netherlands, with AZ Alkmaar. Advertisement The starlet is fresh off something of a breakout season in 2024/25, which saw him rack up 25 appearances across all competitions in Alkmaar's colours. And his performances across these outings, it is understood, proved enough to pique the attentions of one of the game's very biggest clubs. As revealed by Marca, en route to the Netherlands clinching glory at the U19 European Championships, Real Madrid were keeping a close eye on Smit, with a view to a potential future move for his signature. All of a Blancos persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be interested to learn of a head-turning photo of the youngster on Saturday surfacing on social media.
