Hindon Airport begins direct flights to 9 Cities, boosting air travel for Delhi-NCR residents
Delhi NCR residents now have more convenient air travel options, thanks to the expansion of direct flights from Ghaziabad's Hindon Airport. IndiGo has launched operations to nine key cities—Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Indore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Patna, and Varanasi—starting from July 2025.
With nearly 70 weekly departures, Hindon has become a vital secondary air hub for the National Capital Region, particularly benefiting travellers from Ghaziabad, Noida, eastern and central Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh. The initiative aims to ease passenger load at Delhi's IGI Airport while providing faster, closer access to major destinations.
Flights to cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Patna, Varanasi, and Kolkata operate daily, while routes to Goa run six times a week. The terminal has been upgraded to handle up to 500 passengers per hour, with improved ground staff and baggage systems to accommodate growing demand.
This expansion under the UDAN scheme is part of India's broader plan to connect smaller cities and promote regional connectivity. Hindon's success story is seen as a model for future developments under UDAN 2.0, which aims to link 120 new destinations by 2035.
The move not only saves time but also provides a cost-effective and hassle-free option for flyers in and around Delhi NCR.
