Help make eShowe dancers' dreams a reality
It's only three months to go for dancing stars Amukelwa Xulu and Omnene Dlamini to save up and compete on the global stage on 13 August in Blackpool.
These two talented dancers from Eshowe High School have been selected to represent South Africa at the UDO World Street Dance Championships in the UK.
As part of the All-star team, they would compete with dancers from across the globe, showcasing skills in the genres of street dance including breaking, hip hop and others.
'While this is a fantastic opportunity for our learners, there are many costs involved,' said Eshowe High School principal Mr Edward Curtis.
'Flights, accommodation and transfers amount to R33 310 for each learner, not including visas, meals, SA kit and entry fees.
'Your support will play a vital role in helping our athletes achieve their dreams and represent South Africa on the international stage. We appreciate your support in making our learners' dreams a reality.'
Amukelwa took on the global stage last year at the UDO World Championships, where he reached the semi-finals in both the duo and solo categories.
Amukelwa's other impressive achievements include 1st place for Duos in Gauteng IPT 2024 (inter-provincial tournament), Sportsman of the Year (2024), KZN representative in Cape Town, and Top Dance Athlete in U18 in Cape Town Honours Re-awarded.
Omnene's accolades include 3rd place U14A females (fixture); Most Improved Junior Dancer of the Year (2024); 3rd place duo at IPT; and selected to be part of the SA team (2024).
