Jeffrey Epstein's NYC den of depravity: Hidden cameras, a first edition ‘Lolita,' and a curious $1 bill signed by Bill Gates

Jeffrey Epstein's Manhattan den of depravity had surveillance cameras set up in bedrooms, a first edition copy of 'Lolita' on display — and an eyebrow-raising $1 bill signed with a cheeky note from Bill Gates. The previously unreported images, published by the New York Times on Tuesday, were taken inside the sex pest's seven-story Upper East Side townhouse in the years before his arrest and subsequent suicide in late 2019. Among the more bizarre elements found inside the 21,000-square-foot lair, which is where the pedophile entertained the rich and powerful, was a framed $1 bill signed by the Microsoft co-founder. Newly released photos published by the New York Times show disturbing details of Jeffrey Epstein's den of depravity. Christopher Sadowski Advertisement 'I was wrong!' Gates appeared to have scrawled on the note, which was on display in a living room. A sculpture of a woman in a bridal gown dangling from a rope and dozens of framed fake eyeballs were also on display in the entryway, according to the outlet. A copy of 'Lolita' — the 1955 novel where a deviant repeatedly rapes a 12-year-old girl that he has become obsessed with — was also spotted in an office. Advertisement Meanwhile, multiple surveillance cameras were dotted around the property — including in multiple bedrooms. The sprawling townhouse was filled, too, with framed photos of some of the world's most prominent names — including Saudi Arabia's crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, future President Trump, former President Bill Clinton and even the late Pope John Paul II. Billionaires Richard Branson, Bill Gates and Elon Musk also made an appearance. A massage table inside Jeffrey Epstein's UES New York City home. SDNY Advertisement Photos taken inside the townhouse have trickled out over the years as part of the troves of evidence unveiled when Epstein was arrested in 2019 on child sex trafficking charges. Previously released images included the sick massage rooms set up in the house of horrors where Epstein would sexually abuse some of his victims. Creepy taxidermy animals, as well as a bizarre painting of Bill Clinton in a blue dress, were also seen inside the home.

MoU signed for green hydrogen equipment project in Oman

MUSCAT: Omani tech specialist United Engineering Services (UES) has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China's Sungrow Hydrogen Sci & Tech Co for the establishment of a manufacturing facility in the Sultanate of Oman dedicated to producing key equipment for the country's green hydrogen industry. Muscat-based UES, a member of the well-diversified MB Holding Group, specialises in the provision of high-tech engineering services to the local and international oil & gas, marine, and defence industries. In a post on Monday, August 4, 2025, UES CEO Dr Salim al Harthy stated: 'This partnership is a strategic step in expanding our renewable energy footprint and positioning Oman as a regional hub for advanced hydrogen technologies." The manufacturing facility will focus on producing and assembling electrolysers, gas separation and purification systems, and related infrastructure for both local use and regional export, he added. Xiaowei Duan, Head of the AMEA Region and Key Account Director at Sungrow Hydrogen, commented: 'We are proud to join forces with a respected Omani industrial leader. Together, we aim to bring cutting-edge hydrogen solutions to Oman.' The pact marks UES's first foray into Oman's pivotal green hydrogen industry. Its Chinese partner, Sungrow Hydrogen, is a major manufacturer of key hardware for the global green hydrogen and clean energy sector. The company designs and manufactures alkaline (ALK) and PEM electrolysers, power systems, gas-liquid separators, intelligent hydrogen controls, and purification systems. It operates China's first automated assembly line for ALK electrolysers at its Intelligent Manufacturing Centre, with an annual production capacity of 3 GW. Earlier this year, Sungrow Hydrogen announced that it had secured a contract for the supply of water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment for Oman's first green ammonia project, currently under implementation at Duqm. Green Hydrogen and Chemicals Company SAOC (GHC), a wholly owned subsidiary of India-based renewable energy developer ACME Group, is developing the 100,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) green ammonia plant at the Duqm Special Economic Zone. This capacity is envisioned to expand to 900,000 tpa over multiple phases. Sungrow Hydrogen stated that it had been awarded the 'biggest share' of a contract to supply electrolyzer equipment for ACME's 320 MW-capacity green ammonia project in Oman. Under the contract, Sungrow Hydrogen will provide multiple sets of 1,000 Nm³/h (normal cubic metres per hour) alkaline-type hydrogen production equipment and flexible green hydrogen production solutions. Delivery is scheduled to be completed within 2025, the company added in a post. 2025 © All right reserved for Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising (OEPPA) Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. Love him or hate him —there's never been a president like Donald Trump

Leader of the pack Trump. Who may go down in history as USA's one and only. The A-1 Trumper. Not what he says — what he does. He once threw a grenade on Jeb Bush. The family still retains those grievances. Once he tinkled on 'Little Marco,' who grew so upset that he couldn't grow bigger. Now? Secretary of State. Love him, don't love him. Donald's not Millard Fillmore. Forget John Tyler. Shove Franklin Pierce. James Buchanan? WHO?! Tell me what Rutherford B. Hayes did besides trying to change his first name. Advertisement James Abram Garfield — Hey, there's a biggie everyone talks about. Zachary Taylor — wowie! Did what?! William Henry Harrison — WHO?! You don't like him? OK, mazel tov. So don't like him. But there's no one — not Mrs. Biden the ventriloquist — not anybody who can get us through — but the smarts, toughness, flamboyance, fearlessness of Donald Trump! Chewing on a few meaty ideas Advertisement Mega grocer Stew Leonard at the UES's Beach Cafe for a burger, says about the new concept of government-owned supermarkets: 'Bring it on. New York City Celebrity Hotspot Café Maud To Open Upper East Side Location

In New York City, there's never a shortage of popular brunch or happy hour spots, but East Village-based Café Maud has achieved something of a cult following by downtown locals in the past year or so. So, it's not surprising to hear they are now expanding uptown with a second location set to open mid-July. New York-based Cafe Maud is opening a UES location in July 2025. The newest Cafe Maud will be located at 1640 2nd Avenue (the former Five Mile Stone corner of 85th and 2nd), and follows growing demand by commuting locals to add on an uptown location. This spot, founded by Irish restaurateurs (Jackdaw, Odd Sister, Dear Maud), Paul McDaid, Ronan Carter, Jack Watson, Aaron Ashe, along with Curt Huegel, is known for its European-like open-air café energy, with an all-day menu that includes everything from breakfast burritos to lemon ricotta pancakes at breakfast to shrimp ceviche and a wood-fired pizza oven as the day progresses. "A year ago, we opened Café Maud and The Rhymers' Club, which are our most current products in the restaurant group," said restaurateur and partner Ronan Carter. This restaurant group was born when Curt Huegel, a New York and Florida-based restaurateur joined forces with Ronan and Paul in 2017. Since then, Jackdaw, Lulus, Dear Maud, and Odd Sister came to be. They've since partnered with Dublin natives Aaron Ashe and Jack Watson at Café Maud. Since that's been going well, they felt like it's something they could recreate elsewhere. "Having seen the response to it in the East Village, we heard about the iconic 5 Mile Stone location on the Upper East Side coming available, so we jumped at the opportunity to put our hat in the ring for space," said Carter. "We were lucky enough to get a deal done and considered it an ideal location and opportunity to copy and paste what has been our best-received concept to date," said Carter, recognizing the Upper East Side is a young, vibrant neighborhood and one of the most affordable in Manhattan. "We thought it aligned with many visitors in our target market," he said. The spicy tuna with crispy rice is a popular happy hour option at Cafe Maud and will also be ... More available at the new location. Rather than set the Café Maud locations apart, this time they are trying to recreate something that they found to be well-received and that they've enjoyed operating. "We want to give it hints of its own character but keep everything else pretty similar. We worked with the guys behind The Malin workspaces at Ardor, who are furniture suppliers with experience in both designing and manufacturing, to design the space. They added unique elements, including custom-made millwork and stone furnishings manufactured in their factory in Newry, Ireland," said Carter. Cafe Maud is an all-day cafe and will be open for breakfast and brunch as well as happy hour and ... More dinner. One thing that the team is doing differently on the Upper East Side is introducing a new concept similar to the vibe of Café Maud's downtown connected speakeasy, The Rhymers' Club. "The 85th Street location will have a new evening concept called The Domino Room, opening daily after 5pm. Inspired by the historic private room in London's Café Royal Hotel, where W.B. Yeats and his secret poets' society, the Rhymers' Club, once gathered, The Domino Room stays true to the partners' Irish roots," said Carter, who explained that tucked above Café Maud, this uptown hideaway will feature a wraparound Juliet balcony and offer outdoor dining, creating a refined yet relaxed setting for evening cocktails and conversation. As much as this new spot will be an exercise in hoping lightning strikes twice, there'll be some new cocktails to experience, even for diehard local fans. "We will have three unique cocktails in The Domino Room crafted by our beverage director, Aurele Berdoz. He is the mastermind behind some of their other concepts, Odd Sister, Jackdaw, Café Maud, Dear Maud, and TRC's most popular cocktails," said restaurateur and partner Paul McDaid. The Upper East Side is known for its dinner scene. "We want to cater to that in a more laid-back environment. While the Domino Room will mainly consist of the Café Maud menu, there will be some Domino Room-specific menu items," said McDaid. Cafe Maud's new UES location will open as an all-day cafe in mid-July. The Domino Room will open daily at 5pm.
