The No. 1 Quarterback Sends Strong Message During Big Georgia Weekend originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Georgia Bulldogs were successful in recruiting the No. 1 quarterback, Jared Curtis, from the Class of 2026 this May. He had committed to UGA back in March 2024 but reopened his recruitment later in October. Advertisement Since joining, Curtis has been a great driving force behind head coach Kirby Smart's recruiting efforts. During a big recruiting weekend for Georgia, he sent a strong message to his fellow prospects. "Everyone at Georgia this weekend for the OV… make the right choice! Go dawgs 🐶🐶" he posted on X Hailing from the Nashville Christian High School, Curtis led the school to a 12-1 record and a Tennessee Division II-A state championship, the school's first in nine years. He completed 179 of 255 passes for 2,830 yards with 40 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Curtis also showcased dual-threat capability, carrying the ball 88 times for 637 yards and 18 touchdowns. First, five-star Jackson Cantwell, who was leaning toward UGA and had a strong relationship with Curtis, chose Mario Cristobal–led Miami at the last minute. Notre Dame commit, son of former UGA All-American visiting Georgia football
Notre Dame commit, son of former UGA All-American visiting Georgia football Four-star linebacker recruit Thomas Davis Jr., who has been committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish since November, is visiting the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend. Davis Jr. is the son of legendary Georgia football safety Thomas Davis Sr. Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia are the school that is most likely to flip Davis Jr. The Bulldogs recently extended a scholarship offer to Davis Jr. and have a strong pitch to make for the talented linebacker prospect. Georgia has developed the linebacker position better than any other school in the country in recent years. UGA produced two linebackers as first-round picks in the 2025 NFL draft in Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams (arguably a defensive end) and has had nine linebackers (includes Williams and Robert Beal) selected over the past five NFL drafts. Georgia also helped develop Davis Jr.'s father, Thomas Davis Sr., into a first-round draft pick during the Mark Richt era. Davis Sr. played safety at Georgia from 2002-2004, but changed positions to linebacker in the NFL and flourished. In 13 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, Davis Sr. played and made three Pro Bowl appearances and helped the Panthers reach the Super Bowl in 2015. At Georgia, he was selected to the All-SEC first team in 2003 and 2004 and earned a consensus All-American selection in 2004. Thomas Davis Jr. recruiting ranking Davis Jr. has the talent to make a name for himself. He plays for Weddington High School, which is located in Matthews, North Carolina. Davis Jr. is the No. 176 prospect in the class of 2026. He is the No. 11 linebacker in the nation and the No. 11 recruit in North Carolina. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker is a versatile athlete that runs track and plays basketball in addition to playing football. He's exactly the type of linebacker that Georgia inside linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann is looking for.

Georgia football fans react after adding 4-star WR commit Ryan Mosley
Georgia football fans react after adding 4-star WR commit Ryan Mosley Go Dawgs !! — Coach Kirby Smart (@KirbySmartUGA) May 28, 2025 Georgia Bulldogs fans are excited after the Dawgs added their 10th commitment in the class of 2026. Georgia's latest commitment, four-star wide receiver Ryan Mosley, is another outstanding addition for the Bulldogs. Mosley brings an excellent combination of size and explosiveness to Georgia's 2026 recruiting class. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound receiver plays high school football for Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Georgia. Mosley is the No. 182 recruit in the nation, per the 247Sports Composite. Mosley plays at the highest level (7A) of Georgia high school football and is a versatile athlete. He also plays free safety for Carrollton and some recruiting sites consider him to be an athlete and not necessarily a wide receiver. The Carrollton standout has a large catch radius, but is still shifty enough to produce yardage after the catch. Mosley has good speed and has valuable experience playing with an elite high school quarterback in Julian Lewis (a four-star recruit that signed with Colorado). Mosley is someone who can still threaten the defense vertically, but is not going to blow past most Power Four defensive backs. Mosley's commitment is a big win for Georgia wide receivers coach James Coley. How did Georgia football social media react after Mosley's decision? Kirby Smart's classic reaction never gets old UGA recruiting staff member David Cooper Another one of my Young Kings 👑 joined the crew‼️ Told y'all it's about to be a 'Elite wanna play with Elite' type of summer 🤷🏾♂️ #GoDawgs 🐶 — David Cooper (@1CoachCoop) May 28, 2025 Mosley's commitment BREAKING: Four-Star ATH Ryan Mosley has Committed to Georgia, he tells me for @on3recruits The 6'3 200 ATH from Carrollton, GA chose the Bulldogs over Alabama & South Carolina 'Hometown hero always gotta stay home Go Dawgs🐶' — Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) May 28, 2025 Big addition for UGA! Former UGA All-American accepts head coach role with Georgia high school
Former UGA All-American accepts head coach role with Georgia high school The Georgia football program often brings back former players to its coaching staff, with Jarvis Jones, currently the assistant outside linebacker coach, being one such example. Jones has now accepted the head coach position for the Carver-Columbus High School football team which is his alma mater. Jones had been at Georgia under Kirby Smart for six seasons. Jones was apart of the 2009 recruiting class, is a former four-star recruit, and won his high school's first state championship in 2007. He began his college career at USC before transferring to the Georgia Bulldogs. In just two seasons in Athens, he accumulated an impressive 28 sacks, 47 tackles for loss, and 168 tackles. His outstanding performance earned him SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2012, two-time consensus All-American status in both 2011 and 2012, and two selections to the First Team All-SEC. Jones was a first-round draft pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he accumulated 128 tackles and four sacks. Jones played on Carver's first state championship-winning team in 2007 and returns in trying to lead the program to a third state title after earning a second in 2024. He will look to try to become a back-to-back state champion in his first season as a head coach. What Jarvis Jones said to his new team Jones spoke to his new team days after Pierre Coffey, who was Carver's head coach last season, accepted a new job. "It's gonna be hard work,' Jones said. 'It's gonna be dedication. We're gonna get it done, man. We're gonna find ways to get it done." Jones has gained a lot of valuable experience from Kirby Smart and the rest of the Georgia coaching staff over the years. He's ready to take the next step with a talented Carver squad that has three of the top 100 recruits in Georgia. "Everybody looks at the physical side of football, but once you start improving the mental side, it leads to longevity,' added Jones. 'That's what I want to build. I want to build young men, athletes second."

Georgia football predicted to flip 4-star Auburn commit
Auburn Tigers four-star linebacker commit Shadarius Toodle out of Cottage Hill Christian Academy (Alabama) has now been predicted to flip his commitment to Georgia. Toodle is coming off a visit to Georgia this past weekend. The consensus four-star is getting recruited hard by coach Kirby Smart. Toodle and numerous other elite recruits visited Georgia for UGA's scavenger hunt weekend. Advertisement 'Georgia is really make a hard push for me,' Toodle said. 'I had a great time and they are definitely No. 1 on my list right now and it was great meeting Jalon Walker everyone was saying we was twins. But he was cool person to be around and just the background of Georgia linebackers talks for itself,' he told On3 (subscription needed). Toodle being around this past season's Butkus Award winner is a pitch that not many schools can offer. Co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Glenn Schumann is as good of a recruiting position coach as anyone in the country. Schumann has coached three Butkus Award winners at UGA. With the hopes of a linebacker class featuring top recruits like Nick Abrams, Tyler Atkinson and Shadrius Toodle there will be a scenario of the rich getting richer since Georgia already possess one of the nation's best linebacker groups.
