The No. 1 Quarterback Sends Strong Message During Big Georgia Weekend originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Georgia Bulldogs were successful in recruiting the No. 1 quarterback, Jared Curtis, from the Class of 2026 this May. He had committed to UGA back in March 2024 but reopened his recruitment later in October.

Since joining, Curtis has been a great driving force behind head coach Kirby Smart's recruiting efforts. During a big recruiting weekend for Georgia, he sent a strong message to his fellow prospects.
"Everyone at Georgia this weekend for the OV… make the right choice! Go dawgs 🐶🐶" he posted on X
Hailing from the Nashville Christian High School, Curtis led the school to a 12-1 record and a Tennessee Division II-A state championship, the school's first in nine years. He completed 179 of 255 passes for 2,830 yards with 40 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
Curtis also showcased dual-threat capability, carrying the ball 88 times for 637 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Multiple stars are to visit the Dawgs this weekend. Wide Receiver Craig Dandridge, EDGE Khamari Brooks, cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick, tight end Kaiden Prothro, defensive linebacker Carter Luckie, wide receiver Cederian Morgan and defensive back Kaelan Jones.
On Wednesday, UGA added five-star running back Ezavier Crowell and linebacker Izayia Williams. In the four-star group, wide receiver Brandon Bennett, defensive linebacker James Johnson, defensive back Jordan Smith and cornerback Peyton Dyer will be present.

Smart has been snubbed twice this month by top recruits. First, five-star Jackson Cantwell, who was leaning toward UGA and had a strong relationship with Curtis, chose Mario Cristobal–led Miami at the last minute. Second, tight end Mark Bowman recently opted for USC over the Dawgs.

Another Popular WWE Veteran Expected to Leave Company

Another Popular WWE Veteran Expected to Leave Company originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It appears another popular star on WWE TV will soon be departing the company. Fans were stunned after R-Truth revealed WWE has decided not to renew his contract. The news has reportedly been met with overwhelming negativity. Some internally believed that R-Truth was a "WWE lifer," but the decision makers clearly thought otherwise. Advertisement R-Truth won't be alone, it seems. PWInsider is reporting that Carlito also isn't expected to have his deal renewed. Carlito is currently a member of The Judgment Day faction on "WWE Raw." While Carlito isn't involved in marquee singles programs, he has served as a bit of a comic relief character in the group. Damian Priest, Carlito, Dominik Mysterio, and Finn Balor of The Judgment Day prior to Priest's departure from the group.(via WWE) Carlito captured the WWC Puerto Rico Championship on Saturday during "WWC Summer Madness." While many fans believed it could lead to Carlito wearing championship gold on Monday Nights, few expected to hear the news that The Judgment Day member won't be sticking around for much longer. At this time, the expiration date of Carlito's contract is unknown. Carlito first joined WWE through Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2003. He made his main roster debut the following year, defeating John Cena for the WWE United States Championship. Advertisement Carlito remained with the company until his release in 2010. The Puerto Rican veteran returned to WWC and performed on the independent scene before making sporadic appearances for WWE in 2021. At "WWE Backlash 2023," Carlito made a surprise appearance to help music star Bad Bunny and members of the LWO faction. He signed a full-time deal with WWE soon after. WWE Announces Huge Match for 'Monday Night Raw' Ahead of MITB 2025

WWE Announces Huge Match for 'Monday Night Raw' Ahead of MITB 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. A big match has been added to "WWE Raw" on Monday. The red brand will emanate from the BOK Center in Tulsa. Featured on the show will be a women's MITB qualifying match between Liv Morgan, Stephanie Vaquer, and Ivy Nile. That isn't the only major match scheduled for "Monday Night Raw." Advertisement "Raw's" general manager Adam Pearce hopped on social media to announce that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso will team with Sami Zayn to take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The match was announced amid Zayn's current rivalry with the Paul Heyman-led faction of Seth Rollins, Breakker, and Reed. This will be Reed's first match since "Survivor Series 2024." Reed broke his talus bone during the match after diving off the top of a pod for the Tsunami splash. At the conclusion of last week's episode of "WWE Raw," Rollins qualified for the men's MITB match. After the match, Rollins, Breakker, and Reed tried attacking Uso and Zayn, but CM Punk laid Rollins out with a GTS to close the show. Punk will be involved in a men's MITB ladder match, so Rollins' faction might be quite busy on Monday. Advertisement Uso also has other business to handle, as he prepares for a marquee tag team match at "Money in the Bank 2025." He will team with "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes to take on Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul on Saturday. Many wonder if Uso will crack under the pressure of being a world champion, which he addressed during last week's episode of "WWE Raw." Giants Star Key to Russell Wilson Signing

Giants Star Key to Russell Wilson Signing originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There are several levels to stardom in the NFL. There are good players on bad teams receiving merely the hype of a single fanbase. Then, there are blue-chip building blocks that quickly become locks to be extended. Between them and the true superstars taking over the sport are the players that the rest of the league puts stock in. Advertisement New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers hasn't emerged as a top-five receiver just yet. But he's good enough to lure in competent quarterbacks after a single season in the league. Joining '7PM in Brooklyn' with Carmelo Anthony, Russell Wilson raved about the Giants star and considered it a key reason why he signed with New York. 'I just turned on the film and watched this guy Malik Nabers,' Wilson said. 'This dude is a superstar. I saw him, watching the film before I tried to make a decision and trying to get a clear understanding of who the players are, this and that. Obviously, you see the highlights and everything else. But when you watch every single catch and every single rep and every play, you get to see the kind of player he is. He's dynamic. He touches that football, he's gone.' It didn't take long for Nabers to establish himself as an elite weapon. He logged two 100-yard games in the first four contests of his career. After suffering a concussion, he missed two games. Upon his return, he logged 118 more targets. Advertisement Ultimately, he finished with 170 targets, the second most in the NFL, despite his absence. Nabers turned that into 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns, all with bottom-barrel quarterbacking. Wilson isn't just an upgrade over Daniel Jones. He's an aggressive quarterback whose best throws come down the field, a hallmark of every offense he's been a part of. As a rookie, Nabers proved he was a No. 1 receiver with unlimited upside. In 2025, he'll have the trust and the talent around him to make good on that optimism. Related: NFC East Positional Rankings: Do Giants' Quarterbacks Matter?
