UAE Strengthens Global Partnerships at UN Sustainable Development Forum

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expanded its international cooperation with India, Japan, China, and other nations during its active participation in the 2025 UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The UAE delegation took part in more than 25 major events, including workshops and discussions, and held over 48 bilateral meetings with representatives from countries, global organizations, and UN bodies. Among those engaged were leaders from Japan, China, India, Uzbekistan, Eswatini, Senegal, Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Paraguay, Indonesia, and Russia. As part of the Government Knowledge Exchange Programme, the UAE showcased its development model and explored new ways to accelerate progress towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key discussions covered government excellence, public service development, policy innovation, and sustainable growth strategies. Notable meetings included talks with senior leaders from New Jersey, officials from Finland and Ethiopia, and UN leaders such as Dr. Rola Dashti, Executive Secretary of ESCWA, and Amandeep Singh Gill, the UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Technology. The delegation also strengthened ties with organizations like the UN Environment Programme and the Food and Agriculture Organization. His Excellency Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the UAE's National Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, stressed that 'international partnerships are a cornerstone of the UAE's progress,' highlighting the importance of knowledge sharing and joint innovation to address global challenges. The forum also reviewed global progress on five SDGs: good health and well-being, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, life below water, and partnerships for the goals. The UAE reaffirmed its dedication to working with global partners to build resilient, inclusive, and sustainable development systems for the future.
