Sikhs, Sindhis seek deathin forced conversion cases
Lucknow: Members of the Sikh and Sindhi communities in UP have expressed anger and demanded capital punishment for those involved in forced religious conversions of non-Muslim girls through deceit and manipulation.
Calling it an 'anti-national conspiracy', community leaders urged CM Yogi Adityanath to take exemplary action against the accused.
Parbinder Singh, a Sikh representative in the UP Minority Commission, condemned the conversion of girls in exchange for money and alleged that people like Chhangur Baba, arrested recently, deserved nothing less than death.
Minister of state for agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh called it a deep-rooted conspiracy aided by foreign agencies.
"Sikhism protects, not converts. CM Yogi must crush these mafias," he asserted.
From the Sindhi community, Nanak Chand Lakhmani said, "Our daughters are being systematically targeted. These criminals must hang." Another leader, Kishan Chand Tanwani, added, "Fixing conversion rates is inhuman. This is terrorism through deceit." TNN
