NCC cadets from Lucknow University prepare to deal with blasts & blackouts
Lucknow: Over 100 NCC cadets from Lucknow University participated in a Civil Defence Mock Drill on students, representing the 64 and 63 UP NCC Battalions, along with cadets from three UP Naval and five UP Air NCC units, demonstrated their readiness to handle war-like emergencies. During the drill, cadets were trained to respond to bomb blasts, sudden blackouts, and casualty evacuation. They practised providing first aid, crisis coordination and safe transportation of the injured—mirroring real-life emergency scenarios. The exercise also emphasised discipline, teamwork, and leadership, with cadets operating in Chancellor, Alok Kumar Rai said, "NCC is not just about uniforms and drills, it is a powerful tool in nation-building. Through discipline, readiness, and a spirit of service, our cadets are becoming responsible citizens prepared to lead in times of crisis and peace alike." This hands-on experience empowered students with confidence and skills necessary for disaster response, while reinforcing their commitment to serve the nation. The event ended with cadets taking a pledge to remain ever ready to protect society in any crisis.
