UP TT Cup to be held in all categories
Lucknow: In a revamp announced at the UP Table Tennis Association executive meeting on Sunday, the body has restructured its ranking competitions to boost participation and competition. The UP Cup, earlier reserved for juniors, is now a full-fledged state ranking event, welcoming players of all categories. To top it off, an extra ranking competition has been added, giving players more chances to shine. Starting June, ranking tournaments will roll out in Aligarh, Lucknow, Bareilly, Kanpur, and Gorakhpur, culminating with the State Championship in Gautam Budh Nagar. Besides, official state-level competitions are lined up in Jhansi (sub-junior) in July, Gorakhpur (Gorakhpur) in August and in Rae Bareli (Senior) in September. Veterans will battle it out in Agra, Pilibhit, and later at the State Veterans Championship in Allahabad. Para players will also see dedicated competitions in Lucknow and Kanpur. UPTTA president Sanjeev Pathak said that UP players had done well in championships in the country and abroad previous year with Diyansh Srivastava, Sarth Mishra leading the charge.

3 from city win double titles in dist TT C'ship
Kanpur: Durvank , Preksha and Daksh clinched double titles in the stag Global Kanpur district Table Tennis Championship, which concluded on Thursday at the multi-purpose hall of Green Park in Kanpur. Prior to the prize distribution, players and officials observed two minutes' silence to pay tributes to those who were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam (Jammu & Kashmir). Present on the occasion were secretary of KTTA Sanjay Tandon, joint secretary Sunil Singh, Ravi Poptani, Sunil Verma, Satyam Mishra, Ashutosh Satyam Jha, Avinash Yadav and others. The winners of the various age groups were as follows: Under-13 (Girls): 1. Preksha Tiwari , 2. Devarshika Shukla, 3. Aradhya Singh & Aditri Bannerjee; Under-13 (Boys): 1. Durvank, 2.
