Nova Esports finish third at KWC, claim RM1.3 million payday
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian side Nova Esports did the country proud after finishing third at the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) in Riyadh today (July 26).
Nova churned out a 3-0 win over Twisted Minds in the third-place playoff to walk away with a a hefty US310,000 (RM1.3 million) in prize money.
Nova had earlier beaten OG 4-0 in the quarterfinals but lost 4-1 to TT Global in the semi-finals.
will play TT Global for the title later today.
Nova was one of three Malaysian or Malaysian-linked sides that competed at KWC, the other two being Black Shrew Esports and Alpha Gaming.
This is not the first time Nova has won big this year. They emerged victorious during Season 3 of the Honor of Kings (HoK) Invitational in Manila in March to claim US$100,000 (RM446,000) in prize money.
