Texas A&M volleyball middle blocker named to USA Volleyball National Team

Texas A&M volleyball middle blocker named to USA Volleyball National Team After capping off her junior year in College Station, Texas, with her first-career All-SEC First Team selection, Texas A&M volleyball middle blocker Ifanna Cos-Okpalla has been named to the USA Volleyball U23 National Team's training roster. The Flower Mound, Texas, native has earned her second consecutive Team USA selection as an Aggie and has garnered the opportunity to compete against a pool of 18 athletes at the USA's National Team Training Facility in Anaheim, California. From this group, 12 will be selected to represent Team USA at the Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation Pan American Cup in Mexico on July 18th. These awards follow an incredible junior season in which Cos-Okpalla blocked 161 swings and averaged 1.46 blocks a set, which ranks third and second in program history. On the offensive attack, she also doubled her previous total kills with 228 recorded in 2024. Texas A&M volleyball's third-year head coach Jamie Morrison expressed his excitement for Cos-Okpalla and praised her efforts over the last three years in College Station in the official announcement via Texas A&M athletics official website. "I'm proud of the work Ifenna has put in on and off the court. This invitation is a testament to that hard work and is well-deserved. I can't wait to see her playing for her country." Cos-Okpalla's efforts led the Aggies volleyball program to a 21-8 overall record with 10 Southeastern Conference victories last year. Texas A&M also made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, defeating Colorado State 3-1 and No. 8 Arizona State 3-1, before No. 7 Wisconsin eliminated the Aggies. She joins Kentucky middle blocker Brooke Bultema and outside hitter Eva Hudson, Tennessee setter Caroline Kerr and Texas setter Ella Swindle as the conference selections for the USA Volleyball U23 National Team.
