Texas A&M volleyball middle blocker named to USA Volleyball National Team
After capping off her junior year in College Station, Texas, with her first-career All-SEC First Team selection, Texas A&M volleyball middle blocker Ifanna Cos-Okpalla has been named to the USA Volleyball U23 National Team's training roster.
The Flower Mound, Texas, native has earned her second consecutive Team USA selection as an Aggie and has garnered the opportunity to compete against a pool of 18 athletes at the USA's National Team Training Facility in Anaheim, California. From this group, 12 will be selected to represent Team USA at the Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation Pan American Cup in Mexico on July 18th.
These awards follow an incredible junior season in which Cos-Okpalla blocked 161 swings and averaged 1.46 blocks a set, which ranks third and second in program history. On the offensive attack, she also doubled her previous total kills with 228 recorded in 2024.
Texas A&M volleyball's third-year head coach Jamie Morrison expressed his excitement for Cos-Okpalla and praised her efforts over the last three years in College Station in the official announcement via Texas A&M athletics official website.
"I'm proud of the work Ifenna has put in on and off the court. This invitation is a testament to that hard work and is well-deserved. I can't wait to see her playing for her country."
Cos-Okpalla's efforts led the Aggies volleyball program to a 21-8 overall record with 10 Southeastern Conference victories last year. Texas A&M also made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, defeating Colorado State 3-1 and No. 8 Arizona State 3-1, before No. 7 Wisconsin eliminated the Aggies.
She joins Kentucky middle blocker Brooke Bultema and outside hitter Eva Hudson, Tennessee setter Caroline Kerr and Texas setter Ella Swindle as the conference selections for the USA Volleyball U23 National Team.

Dodgers Predicted to Quickly Replace Dalton Rushing With Luke Stevenson

Dodgers Predicted to Quickly Replace Dalton Rushing With Luke Stevenson originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Los Angeles Dodgers have the 40th and 41st picks in the 2025 MLB draft. The Dodgers only have two supplemental first-round pick, with none in the first 27 picks because they exceeded the competitive balance tax threshold. Advertisement When looking at who they could select, recently predicted that they'd land on a catcher, which would be a somewhat questionable decision with Will Smith and Dalton Rushing now up. predicted them to draft Luke Stevenson, the 33rd-ranked prospect in the 2025 MLB draft. Stevenson, a catcher out of North Carolina, has shown off some big-time power in his bat. Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing (68) hits a three-run home run in the eighth inning against the New York Yankees at Dodger Stadium. Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images 'Stevenson could have signed for top-five-rounds money as a North Carolina high schooler in 2023. He opted instead to stay local and play for the Tar Heels, claimed North Carolina's starting job as a freshman and slammed 14 homers before playing with the U.S. collegiate national team during the summer. He went deep 19 times this spring as a sophomore and is one of the best catching prospects available, though he comes with some questions about his hitting ability after posting a .251 batting average and 24 percent strikeout rate,' they wrote. Advertisement A Team USA alum, Stevenson did nothing but swing the bat at a very high level throughout his time at North Carolina. He's regarded as one of the top power hitters in the draft, and arguably the best catcher. If the Dodgers want to take the best player available at pick 40, there's reason to believe he could be the option. He only played in two seasons at North Carolina and hit 33 home runs, posting a .960 OPS. Social media reacts to Clemson landing 4-star 2026 defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil

Clemson football just scored a major addition for its 2026 defensive line with the commitment of four-star defensive tackle Keshawn Stancil. The Clayton, North Carolina standout made things official on Saturday during a ceremony at his high school, choosing the Tigers over Georgia, NC State, Miami, and Penn State. Stancil's recruitment ramped up quickly after Clemson offered him about a month ago. He first visited for the Elite Retreat in March and then returned for an official visit two weeks ago, spending an entire weekend on campus as the Tigers' sole visitor. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 260 pounds, Stancil is a big presence up front and has the stats to back it up. As a junior, he posted 63 tackles, with 22 of those for a loss, along with nine sacks. He joins three-star Kam Cody as the second defensive tackle in Clemson's 2026 class. With Stancil on board, Clemson now has 20 commits for 2026, holding firm in the national top 10 at No. 7 in the 247Sports Team Composite. Much of that success comes from defensive line coach Nick Eason's recruiting efforts. Here is how social media reacted to Clemson landing Keshawn Stancil. Five-star 2026 linebacker chooses Alabama over Ohio State

In what isn't much of a surprise, five-star 2026 linebacker Xavier Griffin announced his commitment to Alabama on Sunday. James Laurinaitis and Ohio State had hopes early on that Griffin could join an already solid linebacker room because of the prospects over the last couple of cycles, but as of late, the trend has been towards Tuscaloosa despite Griffin decommitting from USC and immediately scheduling a visit to Coumbus. In the end, the pull to stay in the south for the Georgia product proved to be too much. Griffin is ranked as the No. 27 overall prospect and the 2nd-best linebacker in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Had the news went Ohio State's way on Sunday it would have been a major shocker as the program looks to put the finishing touches on its 2026 recruiting class. For now, Laurinaitis and company will soldier on with the fantastic group he has at the spot.
