The show must go on: Ub Huishan blow 3x3 opposition away indoors as Wipha howls outside
Even the No 10 hurricane signal brought by Typhoon Wipha could not stop the action at Fiba 3x3 World Tour Hong Kong on Sunday, and almost as inevitable as the storm's approach was Ub Huishan's convincing 21-14 victory over Hangzhou.
The world No 1 team from Serbia have now won three straight masters tours, after also winning in Marseille and Vienna, in May and June, respectively.
On Saturday, the organisers told the Post the final day of the event at the Convention and Exhibition Centre would continue as scheduled given the 'minimum' impact any extreme weather might have on the two-day event.
And while the city's famous book fair and sports expo were halted, player safety was not deemed an issue after this year's event was moved indoors, from Victoria Park in Causeway Bay. The decision was helped by the fact that visiting teams and staff were all staying at a hotel connected to the convention centre.
When asked by the Post about the decision to proceed with matches behind closed doors, a Fiba spokesman said 'the safety and well-being of all athletes, staff, and personnel remain our top priority.'

Top Fiba officials also said it was 'very rare' that an event had to be cancelled.
