Exclusive: Mohit Suri Reveals His Wife And Paap Actor Udita Goswami, A DJ Now, "Is Asked To Play Saiyaara At Gigs"
New Delhi: The Saiyaara wave is everywhere from box office records to club dancefloors. Director Mohit Suri, in an exclusive chat with NDTV, revealed that the film's massive success has reached his home in the most unexpected way: his wife Udita Goswami, who's a DJ now, is getting flooded with requests to play the Saiyaara soundtrack at gigs. "Yes, my wife is a DJ, suddenly everyone is asking her to play Saiyaara," Mohit said with a smile, acknowledging the surreal moment the entire family is experiencing. The filmmaker added that while his wife has always been his biggest support system, this success feels like her moment just as much as his. "She has known me for the last 22 years. It's very difficult being in her position because the highs are not that high sometimes and the lows are very low but you still have to be there supporting," he said. For the unversed, Udita Goswami made her debut in the Hindi film industry with Pooja Bhatt's Paap (2003). She acted in Mohit Suri's directorial debut Zeher with Emraan Hashmi. She went on to act in films like Aksar, Dil Diya Hai, Kisse Pyaar Karoon, Apartment. But she left films a decade ago and became a DJ. Mohit, who married Udita after a decade of being in the film industry, said the couple skipped holidays and made sacrifices while he was working on Saiyaara. "There's always that one love you share which is your obsession with your film. She made all those sacrifices and never made it difficult for me," he said. Their daughter is now enjoying the spotlight too. "She suddenly realised I'm famous and she's loving the paps covering us. The last time when she was spotted, started making her hair and I was like what are you doing?" he laughed. "My son didn't care much. He's like what is happening?" Meanwhile, Saiyaara minted Rs 273.50 crore at the domestic box office within 13 days of its release. Globally, it crossed the Rs 400 crore mark.

Mohit Suris wife pens emotional note after success of Saiyaara
Agency: New Delhi, Jul 23 (PTI) Mohit Suri's wife, Udita Goswami, has shared how the filmmaker 'sacrificed a lot" to pursue his vision for 'Saiyaara", which has become a box office success. In a heartfelt post on Instagram on Tuesday, Goswami shared a series of family pictures of Suri and their children. 'Mohit Suri, I honestly don't know where to begin—it feels a little strange saying this out loud because we usually keep things private. At home, I rarely express my appreciation. And when I ask for help around the house, you say, 'All I know is how to make movies' Well, that, you definitely do," she captioned the images. 'I know people love taking credit when something big succeeds, but when it comes to #Saiyaara, it's all you. I'm not vain enough to believe otherwise. You sacrificed a lot to pursue your vision—turned down so many tempting offers, started fresh, and rebuilt everything from the ground up," she added. She called the 'Saiyaara" director 'a star maker" who does not need stars to shine and has never compromised on his artistic integrity. 'And I hope this film shows everyone just how powerful that can be." she added. The film stars debutant Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles. Wife Udita Goswami Has A Message For 'Star Maker' Mohit Suri: 'Still Have To Hang Your Wet Towel...'
Last Updated: Udita Goswami shared an emotional tribute to husband Mohit Suri after Saiyaara's success, praising his hard work and sacrifices. The film grossed Rs 150 crore. Udita Goswami, wife of Saiyaara director Mohit Suri, shared an emotional and deeply personal tribute to him after the massive success of the Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda film. In a rare public post, Udita opened up about the years of quiet struggle, hard work and sacrifice that led to this moment. She admitted that at home, she's usually the one keeping things practical—nagging him about wet towels and lights left on—so expressing love like this doesn't come naturally. But the success of Saiyaara moved her enough to break that pattern. Udita wrote, 'I honestly don't know where to begin—it feels a little strange saying this out loud because we usually keep things private. At home, I rarely express my appreciation; I'm more often the one giving reminders: 'Turn off the lights," 'Switch off the AC," 'Hang your wet towel," 'Give me some attention," 'Stop watching TV or playing games on your phone…" And when I ask for help around the house, you say, 'All I know is how to make movies." Well, that, you definitely do." She continued, 'This moment didn't come easy. It's the result of years of patience, hard work, frustration, anxiety, sleepless nights, and the quiet insecurity of waiting for your time—while still holding on to the belief that you were good enough. You wanted our kids to witness the highs you once had, to feel proud of their father. And now, you haven't just reached that point—you've surpassed it. They can see it. We all can." Opening up on the sacrifices Mohit made, Udita added, 'I know people love taking credit when something big succeeds, but when it comes to #Saiyaara, it's all you. I'm not vain enough to believe otherwise. You sacrificed a lot to pursue your vision—turned down so many tempting offers, started fresh, and rebuilt everything from the ground up." The film has made Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into overnight stars. To this, Udita wrote, 'You're a star maker—you don't need stars to shine, and you've never compromised on your creative integrity. It should always be your way. And I hope this film shows everyone just how powerful that can be." Saiyaara has made Rs 150 gross crore at the box office.
