A cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district has killed at least four people and left six others injured, just days after a similar disaster in Kishtwar claimed more than 60 lives. Officials said several houses in the Ghati area were buried under rubble and floodwaters, while damage was also reported along the Jammu–Pathankot National Highway. Rescue teams have reached the spot. The incident occurred during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, cutting off access to the village and causing damage to land and property. They added that landslides were also reported in Bagard and Changda villages under Kathua police station, as well as Dilwan-Hutli in Lakhanpur, though no major damage was recorded. Heavy rains have meanwhile pushed water levels dangerously high in several rivers, with the Ujh flowing close to the danger mark, the officials said.
