Ulla Johnson Resort 2026 Collection

Another New York store is on the way for Ulla Johnson, this one uptown on Madison Avenue. It's been a long time coming for this native New Yorker; her Bleecker Street store opened in 2017 and LA followed in 2023, but slow and steady has always been the Ulla Johnson way. If you haven't been paying attention you might've missed the fact that she's become one of American fashion's biggest success stories: She's not just a maker of pretty frocks. This resort lookbook, shot on location in Paris, is testament to that. At a showroom appointment Johnson said, 'I do care a lot about continuing this narrative of a woman on the move. I am that. But it's especially true in this delivery which is one that touches so many seasons,' from October to May. As has become her custom, Johnson collaborated with a woman artist for her seasonal prints. This time it was the estate of the late Czech artist Anna Zemánková, whose Art Brut botanical drawings, which are now on view at the Barbara Gladstone Gallery, appeal to her flower-loving side. 'She has this surrealist, spiritual, kind of supernatural dialogue with nature, which resonates with me,' Johnson noted. The drawings decorate cotton poplin shirt and skirt sets, a sculptural trench, and a cropped bomber with a pronounced volume in back. Zemánková's palette informed Johnson's, even when she wasn't incorporating prints, and she put together some fresh, statement-making color combinations: pool blue with burgundy, and violet with palest peach. Elsewhere, Johnson let texture do the talking. A special occasion dress was made in orange and gold fringe jacquard; she pointed to the uneven lengths, 'imperfections' that keep it from looking too precious. Other party dresses used a hand crinkled metallic lurex poly satin. 'The irregularity gives them a beautiful sense of movement.' Best of all was a crochet dress, modeled on bedspreads she discovered in Majorca last year and made by a dozen women artisans, that isn't pictured because it didn't arrive in time for the shoot. Working with craftspeople around the world is particularly challenging at the moment, given the current geopolitical situation, but Johnson has no plans to change the way she does business. 'Amplifying women's voices and making women feel beautiful and powerful—those are the two overarching threads.'

There's a major denim-on-denim trend happening, and it's everywhere. We've been following the look from Paris, London, and New York, cities where dark looks usually reign. But right now, everyone is embracing their denim two-piece era, and we have to say, they're crushing it. From Ulla Johnson's elevated light to indigo layers to A.P.C.'s street-chic styles, denim is the new black. Although we love designer denim, we're also big fans of saving money and getting the look for less. Fortunately, Amazon has some killer fashion styles that are slaying, from cute denim vests to maxi skirts and jackets. Some call it a denim two-piece, but let's call it what it really is…the Canadian tuxedo. It earned its name in 1951 when Bing Crosby, an American singer (for the Gen-Z crowd), was denied entry to a Vancouver hotel for wearing a full denim outfit. Something that seems laughable in today's era but is nevertheless a part of our past high fashion standards when flying was fun and madmen were cool. In response, Levi's created a custom tuxedo jacket for Crosby entirely out of denim, transforming what was once a fashion faux pas into a statement look that is now embraced at even the most upscale establishments. If pop stars from the '50s aren't your thing, rest assured that celebrities like Dua Lipa, Kendrick Lamar, Austin Butler, and Gigi Hadid, to name a few, are very much rocking the trend. Now go nail the art of the Canadian tuxedo for less with Amazon — no singing required. Women's Denim Amazon The denim vest is the new summer staple because it makes a great breathable top and pairs nicely with a smart pair of jeans or shorts (in denim, of course). Amazon This chic look really qualifies as pants due to the ankle cuff and high waist, pulling off a chill but polished office vibe. These are bound to sell out, especially at this price. Amazon OK, cowgirl, you're on trend. These longer jacket silhouettes are gracing the runway, bringing in a more elevated sophistication paired with jeans or a girl ready to dance the two-step in cutoff denim shorts. The choice is yours. Which will you choose? Amazon The maxi skirt took last summer by storm, and this year it remains a great alternative to jeans thanks to its breezy slits and relaxed fit around the legs. Amazon Available in inclusive sizing and various washes, the bestselling Levi's 501 Women's Shorts are a must-have addition to your wardrobe for the perfect summer look. Amazon Every woman needs a button-up denim top that she can tie at the waist. This one is already cut to perfection, so it lies flat against your waist. If you want more color options, Omoone has 10 shades to choose from. Men's Denim Amazon This classic, regular cut is very trendy right now with the gents, so if you love fitting in, you'll be into these blue jeans. But not to worry, it comes in several other washes if light blue isn't your jam. Add this iconic, sherpa-lined Trucker to your wardrobe, which will take you from work to weekend wear. Machine washable for easy care and lasting wear. Amazon Buy in with the OG: The Levi's Men's 501 Original Fit Jeans. The straight-leg fit offers just the right amount of room while maintaining the classic silhouette, available in regular and Big & Tall sizes. Amazon These jeans provide a laid-back, straight-leg silhouette that is great for all-day wear and weather well. Available in both standard and Big & Tall sizes, the Levi's 559 is the ideal choice for those seeking both style and ease. How to find the right cape coat – and wear it with flair

It's not for nothing that superheroes wear capes. They really come into their own at those moments in life when you need to feel invincible; getting from A to B in the driving rain, for instance, or en route to what you know will be a challenging day at work. Just ask Karen Peacock, Albaray's chief creative officer and co-founder. 'There is something really empowering about that sort of silhouette for the shoulder,' she says. She's not alone in thinking that way. Capes were all over the spring/summer 2025 catwalks – see Kent & Curwen, Ulla Johnson and Tod's – and are now filtering through to the high street. And yes, Peacock is all over it: this season, she's created a caped version of Albaray's signature trench coat. 'I wanted to make it a stylish piece, but also wanted to give it some practicality,' she says. '[The cape element] is not too long, you can get your bag across your shoulder, which can be problematic sometimes. We designed it so that it had buttons underneath the collar, and it has a tab underneath your arm to secure it.' The caped part is removable, so the coat functions as a classic trench as well – a buy with 'investment piece' written all over it. Another practical way to embrace the look is to choose a cape-style jacket, such as the reversible Clover style from Barbour's collaboration with Erdem – well worth consideration for your outerwear arsenal, although that bracelet-length cuff will demand a long-sleeved layer beneath in nippy weather. Reversible showerproof cotton jacket, £499, Barbour x Erdem A more elevated, formal take on the cape comes courtesy of French label Ba&sh and its black wool iteration. 'The bohemian spirit is at the heart of our designs, and capes embody that effortless, free-spirited allure,' says Ba&sh co-founder Sharon Krief. 'Our Hini cape is inspired by the kimono, and features wide, flared sleeves and a contrasting leather belt.' The latter is a neat solution to the 'how to style it' problem. Wool cape, £420, Ba&sh The key is to choose a version that suits you and your wardrobe. Mint Velvet's navy wool-blend style with gold buttons is smart as well, but with a nice ease to the silhouette, and roomy pockets too. The Cos version is more utilitarian, with a hood, while Bimba y Lola's taps into the barn jacket look with its removable contrasting collar. Double-faced wool-blend cape, £235, Mint Velvet, Hooded cape trench, £115, Cos, Detachable-collar cape, £295, Bimba y Lola Jacket length is a matter of personal preference: most fall to the hip, but petites may suit something shorter, like the Barbour, while taller frames might require something longer, such as & Other Stories' version. A-line cotton jacket, £145, & Other Stories Of course, the cape's best quality is its versatility: it can be slung over pretty much anything, which is quite the superpower – in fashion terms, at least. Kate Winslet Smiles Through the Rain in Burberry's New Summer Campaign

LONDON — Burberry is on a cinematic streak with a summer 2025 campaign featuring big British names including Kate Winslet, Nicholas Hoult and Jodie Turner-Smith, all of whom get drenched, at some point, in rainy London. 'It's Always Burberry Weather: London in Love,' breaks Wednesday — 48 hours before Valentine's Day — with seven short films and a series of static images. It's a follow-on from the celebrity-filled winter campaign, and has a similar message: Never leave home without your Burberry rain gear. More from WWD From Runways to Resorts: Fashion Executives Are Reshaping Luxury Hospitality Ulla Johnson CEO Thibaut Perrin-Faivre Talks About His Careful Approach to Growth Naomi Campbell Can Appeal Charity Trustee Ban in Fashion for Relief Funding Scandal 'It's about humor, optimism and, of course, the unpredictability of our great British weather,' said Daniel Lee, creative director of the campaign, which also features Richard E. Grant, David Gandy, Son Suk-ku and Naomi Campbell, who falls for a knight in full armor. Chief executive officer Joshua Schulman, who's been taking Burberry back to basics, said the campaign 'celebrates uniquely British wit and style, and the serendipity that anything is possible in a Burberry trench.' Schulman added that Burberry is 'building on the warmth, humor and unique spirit' of its two most recent winter campaigns, 'which resonated with a broad range of luxury customers and led to an improvement in brand desirability.' He said the acceleration of the brand's core outerwear and scarf categories in the key third quarter 'reinforces my belief that Burberry has the most opportunity where we have the most authenticity.' Schulman, who joined Burberry last year, has been working on winning back traditional customers, accenting Burberry's strengths in outerwear, and tweaking price points to appeal to a broader audience. His strategy has quickly gained ground. Burberry performed better than expected in the third quarter, the key holiday trading period. The company attributed the uptick in sales to a number of factors, including a focus on scarves, outerwear, core products and 'recognizable brand signifiers.' While this latest campaign may be brimming with famous names, the star of the show is the gabardine trench, Burberry's best-known product. Created by Thomas Burberry in 1879, gabardine is shower-resistant, lightweight, breathable — and built for the country's cold, wet weather. The trench appears in all seven films, which were inspired by the British rom-coms of the late 1990s and early 2000s. In one, Winslet is pictured walking down a street lined with pastel town houses, similar to the ones in 'Paddington,' 'Notting Hill' and 'Love Actually.' She's speaking on the phone to her partner, and contemplating a house swap holiday. But she's loathe to leave London. 'I'd miss the rain,' she says, popping open her Burberry check umbrella to shelter from an unexpected downpour. Winslet also does the voiceover in another short, proclaiming that 'Life isn't just about sunny days,' and 'True love only happens in the rain.' Grant, meanwhile, uses a Burberry check umbrella to shield his little dog Thomas, named after the company's founder, while Gandy — clutching a humble bouquet of blue roses — gets drenched as he waits in vain for a lover to arrive. In another short, Campbell ends up sharing a cab with a knight in full armor, a nod to Burberry's historic Prorsum logo. Initially confused, the model eventually warms to her travel companion, and rests her head on his silvery shoulder. As with the earlier campaign, Burberry is planning related window displays and in-store activations that riff on the trench, and the theme of romantic rain. Burberry store interiors will feature wisteria and pastel blossoms, and lime-washed cladding meant to reflect the shades and textures of Lee's latest runway collection. The new ads feature the heritage trench and car coats made from various weights of gabardine woven at the Burberry mill in Keighley, Yorkshire, and lined in Burberry check cotton. They also draw on new styles designed by Lee, who worked trench elements and signature checks into his spring 2025 collection, which was shown at the National Theatre in London. Looks included a little capelet with silky feathers at the neck, deconstructed drummer boy jackets, cool safari suits, and fluttery dresses and skirts in taupe, tangerine or smoky blue.
