Brit 'tried to drown' daughter-in-law on family holiday after row over will

Jasmine Wyld, 33, is said to have been locked in a violent row with father-in-law Mark Gibbon, 62, about his will during a luxury holiday near Disney World in Florida This is the first picture of the young British hairdresser whose father-in-law allegedly attempted to drown her in a swimming pool near Disney World in Florida. ‌ Jasmine Wyld, 33, reportedly feared for her life after it is said she became involved in a furious argument with Mark Gibbon, 62, regarding his will during a luxury holiday break. ‌ It is alleged Gibbon, who operates a film and television lighting business Ultralight in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, shoved and forced Ms Wyld's head beneath the water in the pool on multiple occasions. ‌ Local law enforcement said in a statement: "Because Mr Gibbon couldn't control his anger, he may find himself spending a lot more time in Florida than he had anticipated." He has now been charged with attempted second-degree murder and battery by police in the US, where the family had been residing at a rental property at the Solterra Resort in Davenport, Florida. ‌ The grandfather is being detained at Polk County Jail. Ms Wyld has two children with Gibbon's son, Alex, who had previously been employed alongside his father at the film and television lighting business. He stepped down as director in April 2023, reports the Mirror. Gibbon Snr has subsequently rebranded the company as MRG Lighting. He is registered as the sole director. ‌ Facebook photographs show Ms Wyld, a hairdresser from Buckinghamshire, beaming alongside Alex and their two children. Companies House records reveal she was formerly a director of Jasmine Elizabeth Hair, but the business was dissolved "via a voluntary strike off" in April 2024. When approached by the Daily Mail on Wednesday, Ms Wyld reportedly refused to comment about her father-in-law's arrest. Police had rushed to reports of a disturbance in a back-garden swimming pool at approximately 5.20pm local time at the Solterra Resort on Sunday. ‌ According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Gibbon had become embroiled in a row with Ms Wyld regarding the "stipulations of his will". Deputies recorded: "She advised that she could not breathe and believed that she was going to drown. [The victim] advised that she had to fight Mark in order to get away from him and from under the water but he kept pushing her back under." MRG Lighting, which belongs to Gibbon, has previously carried out work on television and film productions, as well as on music videos for artists including Paloma Faith. The father, from Beaconsfield, is also registered as the sole director of Sage Hairdressing. Gibbon and his daughter-in-law had been consuming alcohol prior to the confrontation, reports Law and Crime. Ms Wyld's nine year old daughter leapt into the pool in an attempt to halt the incident, police revealed. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd commented: "It's great that Polk County draws visitors from all across the world, but we expect vacationers to behave while they visit with us, just as we expect our lifelong residents to do the same. Because Mr Gibbon couldn't control his anger, he may find himself spending a lot more time in Florida than he had anticipated."

Zenbivy Light Bed Review: Still the Best Backcountry Sleep System

Zenbivy, renowned makers of outdoor bedding, have a clever quilt-and-sheet backcountry sleep system that gave me the best sleep I've ever had on the trail. The only problem with the original version was the weight, which was more than I generally like to carry on longer trips. Zenbivy has an ultralight version of its bed, but the fabrics aren't nearly as nice and soft as the original. This year Zenbivy updated its Light Bed, which sits between the ultralight and the regular (both of which were also revamped). It's now lighter, but retains much of what makes the original so nice. Zenbivy sent out a sample of the 2025 bed last year, and after testing it on fall, spring, and summer trips over the past eight months, I think it's the most versatile sleep system you can buy and a tremendous value as well. The Zenbivy Sleep System Photograph: Scott Gilbertson Before I get into this review, you have to understand what a Zenbivy bed actually is, because there's more here than just a sleeping bag. Zenbivy's sleep system is comprised of three elements: a quilt, a sheet, and a sleeping pad. Zenbivy's current sleeping system lineup consists of two different types of quilt/sheet combinations. One has zippers, which are now aimed at car camping, and the others, like the Light Bed, use a clip system to save weight. There are four "beds" at the moment: the Core, the Light, the Ultralight, and the Winter Light.

"Deputies responded to the crash scene where they found a 1-seat ultra-lite style airplane in a field with extensive damage." An ultra-lite plane following an emergency landing in Hubbard County Sheriff's Office At the airport, the 65-year-old Park Rapids man flying the plane said he was flying out of Park Rapids airport when engine troubles at 400-500 feet prompted him to take quick action. "He realized that he would not be able to make it back to the airport and decided to try to make an emergency landing in a field," the sheriff's office said, noting that the pilot escaped the crash-landing without injury. The FAA was alerted to the incident and decided further investigation wasn't necessary.
