Uma Thurman has opened up about how 'beautiful' motherhood and compared her parenting to her own upbringing. The Kill Bill star, 55, shares two children with actor Ethan Hawke, Maya, 26, and Levon, 23, and 13-year-old daughter Luna with financier Arpad Busson. And speaking to The Sunday Times, Uma has spoken about how her life has changed from her younger days in Hollywood since becoming a mother. 'It's beautiful and there's not that much time left in the day,' Uma said, but she is now looking towards what life will be like once all her children have flown the nest, in what she calls the 'sunset period'. Uma is planning what she will do when her time isn't spent 'shopping and driving and emailing teachers and all the things we do'. But elsewhere, Uma shared that she often compares how she parents her children to the 'mind-boggling' freedoms she enjoyed as a teenager. Uma revealed she used to travel into the city on her own as a teenager to audition with just a quarter in case she got lost. She said: 'Mind-boggling, I mean, it's unimaginable, those were different times.' The actress and her youngest stepped out to support her oldest daughter Maya ahead of her Off-Broadway debut. It comes after Uma was joined by her rarely seen daughter Luna at the opening night of Eurydice at the Signature Theatre in New York City in May But she has cultivated a far more private existence for her youngest daughter Luna, whom she shares with her ex, the French hedge fund manager Arpad Busson, 62. Even though Luna isn't usually spotted at similar events, this time she was seen posing for photographers. While little is known about Luna, Uma previously opened up about why she decided to give her daughter four middle names. 'Maya came up with the best excuse, which was that I probably wouldn't get to have any more children, so I just put every name that I liked into Luna's,' she told Jimmy Fallon during a Tonight Show appearance. 'We couldn't quite agree on the name, so we call her Luna. She's lucky that way.' Uma and her financier ex Arpad Busson began their on–off relationship back in 2007, and revealed that they were engaged in June of the following year, but they called off the engagement in 2009. The split was short-lived, though, and Uma and Arpad reunited in 2010, with the engagement back on. Luna arrived in 2012, but her parents still hadn't married by 2014, when they called it off their engagement for a second time and seemingly split for good. In early 2017, Uma and Arpad became engaged in a custody battle over their youngest child, with The Pulp Fiction star ultimately receiving primary physical custody of Luna. Prior to dating Arpad, Thurman was married twice: from 1990 to 1992 to Oscar winner Gary Oldman, and then from 1998 to 2005 to Ethan Hawke after they met on the set of their 1997 sci-fi drama Gattaca. They welcomed Maya in 1998 and Levon in 2002, before separating in 2003. Prior to his relationship with Uma, Arpad's best-known partner was Elle Macpherson, whom he was together with from 1996 to 2005 and shared two sons.

Though now widely recognized as a seminal film with indelible cultural influence — sparking references, parodies and homages aplenty since its 1994 release — Pulp Fiction, created on a small seven-figure budget, wasn't something star Uma Thurman initially realized would have such a watershed impact. In a recent interview with The Times U.K., the Oscar nominee discussed her four-decade-plus career and turn alongside Charlize Theron in Victoria Mahoney's The Old Guard 2, released July 2 on Netflix. She went to Juilliard, thank God. She actually finished high school. And what I did learn [about mothering] is that nobody listens. So it's really about being there for [my kids] rather than telling them what to do,' she said. Pulp Fiction, about two hitmen — portrayed by Samuel L. Netflix has announced everything coming to the streaming service in July 2025, and there are some heavy hitters. It wasn't too hard to find five must-watch shows and movies that you need to add to your watchlist. First up is "The Old Guard 2." This superhero movie is the sequel to 2020's "The Old Guard," which we ranked number 78 on our list of the top 100 superhero movies. Starring Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman, it's undoubtedly the top title this month. Then there's "The Sandman" season 2, which is arriving in three waves this month for a bittersweet series finale. If you watched the first season of the DC Comics adaptation in 2022, you'll know that this show isn't one to miss. Aside from these top picks, I've got the full slate of everything new to Netflix this month listed below. Plus, we have a roundup of what's leaving Netflix in July 2025, so you have one last chance to watch. Here's everything coming to — and leaving — Netflix this month. New on Netflix in July 2025: Top picks 'The Old Guard 2' "The Old Guard 2" has Charlize Theron reprising as Andromache of Scythia (known to her friends as Andy). She's the leader of a group of immortal soldiers who are mercenaries for hire. But immortality gives you a lot of time to make enemies, and Andy has made a powerful one in Quyhn (Ngô Thanh Vân) — a fellow immortal whom Andy left to drown for eternity 500 years early. Quyhn has finally escaped her watery prison, though, and she's looking for payback. She's not the only one targeting Andy and her soldiers, either. Discord (Uma Thurman) is hunting her down and she's the first of the immortals, so there's no tougher foe out there. Stream on Netflix starting July 2 'The Sandman' season 2 "The Sandman" was a favorite of a few of us here at Tom's Guide (myself included) when it came out in 2022. So when it was renewed relatively quickly later that year, I was excited for more. Since that announcement, though, Netflix has also decided to cancel the show, making season 2 its final season. This was in no small part due to the allegations of sexual assault against Neil Gaiman, who created "The Sandman" and was an executive producer on the Netflix series. Despite this bittersweet ending, it does look like Netflix spared no expense for Lord Morpheus's (Tom Sturridge) last hurrah, and the trailer brings back some familiar faces. I'm personally most excited for the return of The Corinthian (Boyd Holbrook), who was the main villain of season 1. Volume 1 drops six episodes on July 3, with Volume 2 dropping the final five episodes of season 2's main storyline on July 24. A series finale special episode will arrive on July 31, bringing the show to a close. Stream Volume 1 on Netflix starting July 3 'Too Much' "Too Much" stars Megan Stalter as Jessica, who leaves New York for London after a bad breakup. There, she meets Felix (Will Sharpe), an indie musician who is not the Hugh Grant type she was hoping to meet, but he might just be the right person for her right now. This show was one of my most anticipated Netflix shows of 2025 when the year started, and it still is. Stalter has been great in "Hacks," I've loved Sharpe in "The White Lotus" season 2 and "A Real Pain and while show creator Lena Dunham isn't always everyone's favorite, there's no denying that she's created brilliant TV before. Stream on Netflix starting July 10 'Happy Gilmore 2' "Happy Gilmore" is likely on Adam Sandler's Mount Rushmore of greatest performances. The ice hockey player turned professional golfer was iconic in the 90s and it still is today. At least, that seems to be what Netflix is counting on, as "Happy Gilmore 2" looks like more of the same as the first movie based on the official trailer. This sequel is set 30 years after winning the Tour Championship in the first movie, and has a retired Happy needing to return to golf to pay for his daughter Vienna's (Sunny Sandler) ballet school. But a familiar face in Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) is standing in Happy's way, and is on a quest to take back his title. Stream on Netflix starting July 25 'Untamed' "Untamed" is a new Netflix miniseries created by Mark L. Smith, who most recently was part of the team behind "American Primeval," a miniseries from Peter Berg that debuted on Netflix earlier this year. So it's safe to say that the creative team behind this new thriller set in Yellowstone National Park has some familiarity with the expanse of the wild American West. In this murder mystery, a woman's death in the national park has federal agent Kyle Turner (Eric Bana) looking for answers. To find them, he will need to go into the depths of the park, where the only laws that rule are the laws of nature. Uma Thurman has opened up about the intense physical preparation she underwent for the Kill Bill movies. The 55-year-old actress, renowned for her iconic role as The Bride in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol 1 and Vol 2, discussed her martial arts training during an interview about her new project, The Old Guard 2. Revealing her return to action films this year came without time for full training, Uma told The Sunday Times: 'Fortunately I had put in hundreds of hours learning how to hold a sword (for Kill Bill 1 and 2),' she said. In her new action film, a sequel to the 2020 Netflix action hit, Uma plays Discord, a 5,000-year-old immortal warrior who engages in an epic sword fight opposite Charlize Theron's character, Andromache, near a secret nuclear facility. Uma added about her Kill Bill muscle memory coming in handy during the shoot: 'You may not be limber and strong. 'But if your brain has learnt how to memorise sequences of movements, you can get back in that zone.' For Kill Bill, Uma trained for eight hours a day across three months in preparation for the role. That experience, she said, proved invaluable when returning to the genre. Her character in The Old Guard 2 marks her first sword-wielding performance since Quentin Tarantino's films, and it has been more than two decades since she last performed choreographed combat on screen. Uma's new film is directed by Victoria Mahoney and follows a group of age-old warriors with supernatural powers who fight to protect humanity. The original, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, was praised for its blend of grounded drama and stylised violence. Speaking about the appeal of The Old Guard, Uma said: 'I thought that first movie was really unusual, a superb female-led action film that had depth, drama and really beautiful, naturalistic acting.' She also credited her co-star and producer Charlize Theron, 48, as a major draw for signing on. Uma added: 'Charlize is a miraculous performer, a very powerful individual and as charismatic in person as on screen. 'And I liked the idea of playing a supporting role to another actress who I thought had done really significant work in the drama/action field.' Charlize, who also produced both instalments of The Old Guard, told The Sunday Times as part of its feature on Uma: 'I have always admired Uma from afar. From Dangerous Liaisons to Kill Bill, her work is a masterclass in finding the micro in characters. 'In moments I got so lost watching her in scenes we had together that I had to remind myself I was in the scene with her. She's that captivating.'
