in association with CP 67 Mall, on June 22, turning the spotlight on a spectacular celebration of raw talent and ambition.
After nearly two weeks of thrilling performances, nail-biting rounds, and heartwarming moments, the curtains finally fell on Rising Star, Tricity's most-awaited mega talent hunt for children, organised by The Times of India in association with CP 67 Mall - a unit of Unity Group Homeland. The event culminated in a glittering grand finale at CP 67 Mall, where Isha Bir stole the show, emerging as the first prize winner of this unforgettable journey of talent and triumph.
The electrifying finale, which saw 15 top contestants battling it out for glory, marked the end of a fiercely competitive yet joyous celebration of the region's best young talent. Tanishka Sharma danced her way to the second prize, while Kanika Singh bagged the third position. In a moment that had the audience roaring with applause, Anmol Singh, with his vibrant and energetic Bhangra act, was crowned the star performer of the day.
The talent spectacle, which took place between June 11 and June 22, featured the participation of over 1,800 students, with rounds packed with talent, enthusiasm, and a burst of youthful creativity. The first leg of auditions ran from June 11 to June 16, featuring an array of acts—from soulful singing and electrifying dance performances to mimicry, stand-up comedy, instrumental showcases, and dramatic monologues.
The top 100 shortlisted contestants then advanced to round two, held on June 18 and 19, with the semi-finals staged on June 21.
The energy and enthusiasm only intensified as the finale approached, ultimately leading to a dazzling conclusion on June 22 with a grand prize distribution ceremony. The event was supported by My FM as the radio partner, Abaca Systems as the IT partner, and Verka as the beverage partner.
The first prize winner was awarded a handsome cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the second winner received Rs 50,000, and the third-ranked took home Rs 25,000.
The final day's star performer received Rs 21,000 as recognition for his electrifying Bhangra.
Adding to the excitement were the multi-talented judges, who brought their expertise and warmth to the event: Balkar Sidhu, a theatre artist; RD Kailey, a singer and music director; Dr. Kajol, a Kathak dancer; and Ruby Singh, a fashion and fitness model. The event was anchored with infectious energy and flair by Karamjot Singh Khurana.
Speaking on the occasion, RD Kailey shared, 'The Rising Star event has created a space where young dreams were nurtured and celebrated. Every child who reached the finals is a winner in our eyes. The Times of India and CP 67 Mall have given the kids of this region an incredible platform, and I'm confident these young stars will shine even brighter in the future.'
Ruby Singh, another jury member, echoed the sentiment, saying, 'This competition gave us cherished memories with the kids.
Each one of them displayed such passion and brilliance—it was an emotional and inspiring experience. The platform has truly given wings to their dreams.'
A parent of a finalist, beaming with pride, expressed heartfelt gratitude: 'It was a treat to see so many talented kids together. My daughter found a new confidence on this stage. We're incredibly proud of her and thankful to the organisers for nurturing such young talent.'
"We feel proud to be associated with this incredible event that aims to promote the talent of youngsters from the region.
