'And I can only hope and pray that no violence and harm comes to any person on account of those irresponsible and incendiary remarks,' Salvi told . Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller Pritzker's comments 'could be construed as inciting violence.' 'He didn't say about peaceful protests last night, again words matter and he can't walk back the words that he used last night,' Salvi said. 'If I were in charge and I had a say, it would be my opinion that there should be an open investigation for criminal incitement by this governor, because words matter.' 'Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now,' Pritzker said in his keynote address at the New Hampshire Democratic Party's McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner. 'These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace,' he continued. 'They have to understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have.' 'We will never join so many Republicans in the special place in hell reserved for quislings and cowards,' Pritzker added. 'We will relegate their portraits to the museum halls reserved for tyrants and traitors.' lllinois GOP calls Pritzker speech to N.H. Dems ‘inflammatory and dangerous'

CHICAGO (WGN) — The chair of the Illinois Republicans on Monday blasted Gov. JB Pritzker, labeling his remarks at a dinner with New Hampshire Democrats a day earlier as 'inflammatory and dangerous.' 'JB Pritzker's ego-driven obsession with becoming President is putting Illinois, and Republicans across the country, at risk,' Kathy Salvi said in a statement. 'His inflammatory and dangerous speech is focused on further dividing our country and I hope to see Illinois Democrats condemn his call for violence.' Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison also dubbed Pritzker's remarks as 'reckless' and 'an invitation to violence.' If he aspires to a higher office, Pritzker isn't admitting it, but his appearance in New Hampshire is a traditional stop for potential presidential candidates. In his remarks at the McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner on Sunday, a major fundraiser for the party, the governor said Republicans in control of the federal government 'cannot know a moment of peace.' JB Pritzker calls for mass protests, says GOP 'cannot know a moment of peace' 'Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now,' he said. On Monday, in a stop before University of Illinois-Chicago students and leadership on what he calls his 'Standing Up for Illinois' tour to protect Illinois from the Trump administration, Pritzker insisted he was not calling for violence. 'I called for people to take out their megaphones and their microphones, to stand up on soap boxes and get to the ballot box,' he said. Despite Pritzker's efforts to clarify his comments, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller told reporters that Pritzker's comments could be construed as inciting violence. Illinois exploring speed cameras, AI to reduce speeding and crashes on DuSable Lake Shore Drive

Illinois legislators are looking into using speed cameras and artificial intelligence technology to reduce speeding and crashes on DuSable Lake Shore Drive. A State Senate executive committee is holding a hearing on the topic Thursday in Springfield. State Senator Sara Feigenholtz has filed a bill to have the University of Illinois - Chicago study how speed cameras and AI traffic camera technology could reduce speeding and crashes on DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Sen. Feigenholtz says there have been more than 15,000 crashes on North DuSable Lake Shore Drive, or about seven crashes a day. SB1507 would amend the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow automated speed enforcement systems in safety zones, and allow a safety zone to include a portion of DuSable Lake Shore Drive if the Chicago Department of Transportation designates it as a "high crash corridor."
