#SHOWBIZ: Jennifer Lopez reportedly snubbed by Chanel in Istanbul
ISTANBUL: US singer Jennifer Lopez was reportedly denied entry to a Chanel store in Istanbul last week, just a day before captivating the Turkish capital during her summer tour stop. According to Turkiye Today, the 56-year-old superstar was shopping at the upscale Istinye Park mall on Monday when a security guard informed her that the boutique had reached full capacity. "Ok, no problem," Lopez reportedly replied, maintaining the composure of someone both fabulously wealthy and world-famous. Store staff later extended an invitation for her to return, but Lopez declined, Patronlar Dunyasi reported. Instead, she is said to have spent tens of thousands of dollars at other luxury brands, including Celine. This is a classic case of life imitating art, an almost similar incident acted by Julia Roberts in 'Pretty Woman', albeit with a different situation when she was denied entry. The Daily News noted that Lopez's representatives did not respond to requests for comment. The following day, she lit up the stage at the Istanbul Festival in Yenikapi Festival Park as part of her Up All Night Tour, having also performed in Antalya late last month. Lopez's personal life has also been making headlines. Known to fans as half of "Bennifer," she rekindled her romance with Ben Affleck in 2021, marrying him in two ceremonies in 2022. However, she filed for divorce on the second anniversary of their second wedding, with the split finalised earlier this year. During a mid-July concert in Bilbao, Spain, Lopez poked fun at her romantic history, declaring she was "done" with marriage after four divorces — from Affleck, Marc Anthony, Cris Judd, and Ojani Noa — plus a few broken engagements.

Jennifer Lopez appeared to be in the mood to stir things up in a series of sultry selfies on social media Monday. The hitmaker, 56, seemed relatively unscathed after an interaction with a grasshopper at the final show of her Up All Night tour in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sunday night. For her look the Rebound artist appeared to channel the 1950s with a twist. She showcased her dancer's legs and famous derriere in a black long sleeve leotard with sheer floral stockings and black pumps. She added a French flair placing a black beret atop her long, blonde locks. Her makeup looked camera ready with a soft pink lip. She accessorized with gold bracelets on each wrist, stacks of gold rings on one hand. The only comment the Hustlers star made when posting the carousel of photos was a black heart emoji. Fans, including Paris Hilton, responded with their own loving emojis. 'I don't know if we were ready for this post,' her makeup artist Georgi Rusev wrote 'Million dollar legs! ❤️' wrote one fan, referring to JLo's shapely gams. 'Perfection exists and has your name…✨' stated an ardent admirer. 'Magic mirror on the wall, who is the baddest of them all?' asked another. The multi-hyphenate has been keeping herself quite busy since her highly publicized divorce from Ben Affleck, 52, in 2024, following two years of marriage. She currently has several projects in her queue, including the romantic comedy Office Romance. The actress was seen filming with co-star Brett Goldstein in New Jersey in the Spring and should be released sometime in April 2026. Lopez could have a few weeks to rest up and and recuperate before she has to hit the road promoting her upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman which will open in theaters October 10. She and Affleck are both executive producers on the musical.

The singer's official fan account posted the video once Lopez's concert ended with the caption, 'Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… on stage… in real time.' In the video, you can see the singer starting to serenade the crowd as the creepy crawly climbs up to her neck. Her fans were in awe at how calm she remained throughout the ordeal. The singer, 56, was shopping at high-end mall Istinye Park on Monday when a guard at Chanel told her the store was at full capacity, according to Turkiye Today. 'OK, no problem,' the Bronx-born A-lister answered, cool as a very wealthy, very famous cucumber. Employees later invited her to shop at Chanel, but Lopez declined, per local business outlet Patronlar Dunyasi. She reportedly went on to spend tens of thousands of dollars at other designer stores like Celine. A representative for Lopez did not respond to the Daily News' request for comment. A day after the reported incident, Lopez performed at the Istanbul Festival at Yenikapi Festival Park as part of her Up All Night Tour. She also played the Turkish city of Antalya late last month. The current tour comes a year after Lopez's infamously cancelled This Is Me… Live Tour to promote her This Is Me… Now album, largely centred on her reconciliation with Ben Affleck. Colloquially known as Bennifer, the couple was engaged in the early aughts and got back together in spring 2021. They tied the knot in two ceremonies in summer 2022, with Lopez filing for divorce on the second anniversary of the latter wedding. The split was legally finalised earlier this year.
