George Clooney's Theory About The Future Of ‘Trumpism' Doubles As A Diss To The GOP

Love him or hate him, President Donald Trump is a vibe — and George Clooney thinks that'll contribute to MAGA's eventual downfall. On Wednesday, Clooney was asked by CNN's Anderson Cooper if he thinks 'Trumpism' will endure after Trump's term is up. 'I don't think so,' Clooney said. 'I think it would be very hard to do it.' The actor, who is currently starring in the Broadway rendition of 'Good Night, and Good Luck,' then went on to offer up his theory on why he thinks MAGA will fizzle out in 2028. 'Remember this, Donald Trump is a celebrity. That's what he is. I mean, he's got a star on Hollywood Boulevard,' Clooney said. Clooney continued, 'He's a celebrity, and he's the president of the United States, and so he has been elected, duly elected. Fair deal, I'm not complaining about that. …That's how this democracy works. But he's also a celebrity, and he is charming. And to the people who like him, they think he's funny. To a great many others, they don't.' Clooney then went on to diss the entirety of the Republican Party while concluding his argument. 'And so when he is finished — and he will be finished — they're going to have to go looking for someone who can deliver the message that he delivered with the same kind of charisma,' Clooney said. 'And they don't have that.' Although Clooney could be right, he's not exactly a reliable fortune teller. In May 2016, when Trump was campaigning for the presidency, the 'Up in the Air' star told an audience at the Cannes Film Festival 'there's not going to be a President Donald Trump.' 'That's not going to happen,' Clooney said with a laugh. 'Fear is not going to be what drives our country.' George and Amal Clooney have never had an argument

George Clooney and his wife have never had an argument. The 63-year-old actor feels "extraordinary lucky" to have met his spouse Amal - who he married in 2014 after just over a year of dating - because they are having a "really great time in life" and always get along really well. Speaking to 'CBS Mornings' host Gayle King, George said: "I remember we were here with you once before, and I remember we said we'd never had an argument. We still haven't. We're trying to find something to fight about! "I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman. I feel as if I hit the jackpot. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think I'm the luckiest man in the world. So it's great." The couple are parents to seven-year-old twins Alexander and Ella and the 'Up in the Air' actor loves being in their company. He said: "Our kids are seven, about to be eight, which is a pretty great age. They're really curious and funny. Every parent thinks their kids are great — our kids are funny and make us laugh." George had made his point about never arguing when he and Amal appeared on 'CBS Mornings' back in September 2022. Insisting maintaining their marriage is "easy", he said at the time: "Like, the easiest thing in our lives by far. We've never had an argument." Amal agreed: "It's maddening to some of our friends. I have a cousin, actually, every time we see him he's like, his first question is, 'So have you had an argument yet?' before he says hello." Gayle replied: "Seriously? You've never had an argument?" George quipped: "Would you like us to right now? Would that make feel better?" And amid the COVID-19 pandemic in December 2020, the former 'E.R.' actor admitted he felt "very lucky" that being in lockdown hadn't really "tested" his marriage. He said: "I feel very lucky in so many ways to have met her. We haven't ever had an argument. You know, everybody's been slammed together because of the coronavirus and a lot of friends' relationships have been tested. For us, it's been really easy."
