George Clooney's Theory About The Future Of ‘Trumpism' Doubles As A Diss To The GOP
Love him or hate him, President Donald Trump is a vibe — and George Clooney thinks that'll contribute to MAGA's eventual downfall.
On Wednesday, Clooney was asked by CNN's Anderson Cooper if he thinks 'Trumpism' will endure after Trump's term is up.
'I don't think so,' Clooney said. 'I think it would be very hard to do it.'
The actor, who is currently starring in the Broadway rendition of 'Good Night, and Good Luck,' then went on to offer up his theory on why he thinks MAGA will fizzle out in 2028.
'Remember this, Donald Trump is a celebrity. That's what he is. I mean, he's got a star on Hollywood Boulevard,' Clooney said.
Clooney continued, 'He's a celebrity, and he's the president of the United States, and so he has been elected, duly elected. Fair deal, I'm not complaining about that. …That's how this democracy works. But he's also a celebrity, and he is charming. And to the people who like him, they think he's funny. To a great many others, they don't.'
Clooney then went on to diss the entirety of the Republican Party while concluding his argument.
'And so when he is finished — and he will be finished — they're going to have to go looking for someone who can deliver the message that he delivered with the same kind of charisma,' Clooney said. 'And they don't have that.'
Although Clooney could be right, he's not exactly a reliable fortune teller. In May 2016, when Trump was campaigning for the presidency, the 'Up in the Air' star told an audience at the Cannes Film Festival 'there's not going to be a President Donald Trump.'
'That's not going to happen,' Clooney said with a laugh. 'Fear is not going to be what drives our country.'

On Friday, Musk floated 'The America Party' as a potential new political faction after posting a poll for his followers to weigh in on the social media platform X the day prior. 'I appreciate what Elon Musk has done with DOGE. He's brought things to light that we're going to act upon in Congress. But the end of the day, the only friends I look at making in Washington DC [are] probably my wife and my kids,' Patronis said. 'The friends I care about are the ones in Congressional District 1 … and they elected Donald Trump,' he added. 'They did not elect Elon Musk.'

Senator Who Called For Abrego Garcia's Return Uses White House's Words Against Trump
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) hit back at President Donald Trump's administration Friday after the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia — the Maryland father mistakenly deported to a prison in El Salvador — to U.S. soil. Van Hollen, who met with Abrego Garcia in April as the Trump administration refused to abide by a Supreme Court order to facilitate his return to the States, responded to a White House statement that asked him and others 'who defended this illegal criminal abuser to immediately apologize' to the man's 'victims.' 'You know, I will never apologize for defending the Constitution,' he told CNN's Anderson Cooper, who read part of the White House statement to Van Hollen. 'In fact, it's the Trump administration and all his cronies who should apologize to the country for putting us through this unnecessary situation and to Abrego Garcia for putting him through this situation and his family,' Van Hollen added. Garcia, perinitial reports later confirmed by Attorney General Pam Bondi in a press conference, landed back in the U.S. to face federal criminal charges that accuse him of transporting unauthorized migrants into the country. The move to charge Abrego Garcia reportedly led to the resignation of a top federal prosecutor in Tennessee, where the two-count indictment was filed in May and unsealed Friday. In the lead-up to the charges, Trump officials repeatedly stressed that Garcia was 'never' coming back from El Salvador, shifting the responsibility of facilitating such a move to that country. They also pushed claims that Abrego Garcia is a 'known member' of the MS-13 gang, allegations that his family and his attorneys have rejected. Van Hollen said the federal prosecutor's resignation 'raises questions' about the move to charge Abrego Garcia, but the focus should be on his return, adding that it's a 'good news story' for due process rights in America. 'The Trump administration should respect the rule of law and the Constitution of the United States. So really, it's President Trump who should apologize to the country for violating his oath to the Constitution,' he said. 'I'm glad in this moment, they are finally, finally doing what the Supreme Court said but they continue, Anderson, to violate the Constitution in many, many other [deportation] cases.'
