Experts criticise delay in implementing Master Plan 2047

Jaipur: Multiple retired officials from Urban Development and Housing (UDH) department and Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) have expressed dissatisfaction with the state govt's handling of Master Plan 2047. These officials assert that the govt ought to have already put the Master Plan into effect and JDA should be proceeding with new provisions, particularly documentation for jurisdictional expansion. "I feel that the state govt should have executed the new Master Plan by now. The govt missed deadlines five times by appointing different types of consultancy agencies to prepare the master plan. As precious time is getting wasted, the apprehension is whether JDA would be able to complete all proposed provisions incorporated in the new master plan within 2047?" questioned Chandra Sekhar Parashar, retired additional chief town planner of UDH Department. Officials of UDH department retaliated against this claim, stating that the implementation of the Master Plan 2047 is at its final stage and awaiting final approval from the cabinet. They claimed the plan should be implemented by Sept 6, 2025, and there is still time left to meet the deadline. "Even if we miss the Sept deadline, we feel we won't waste much time implementing this master plan. Such master plans require a comprehensive study and opinions, criticisms, and suggestions from experts and residents from different sections of society. We examined various crucial factors driving the region's economic activities and sought suggestions from different sections of people before finalising the draft. Most of these initiatives were taken before the assembly polls of 2023," said a UDH department official. Earlier, a section of retired town planners and former officials of the JDA vehemently criticised the civic body's decision to double its jurisdiction in the next 25 years. Instead, these retired officials wanted the state govt to develop new authority or urban local bodies for added areas adjacent to Jaipur city. "Incorporating areas under UDH aims to facilitate development, as UDH possesses substantially superior funding allocations compared to rural and panchayati raj departments. The population in these regions is projected to increase exponentially in the next 25 years, as more people would migrate towards the state capital," another UDH official opposed.

Indore: Chief minister Mohan Yadav after Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's public meeting in Bhopal, on Saturday evening arrived in Indore and took a ride in the Metro Train. During his journey, Yadav visited the metro's engine cabin to observe the operational systems and discussed the metro rail's functioning with officials, gathering detailed information. He also took the opportunity to interact with the women passengers, inquiring about their initial experiences with the new service. Upon arrival at the station, the Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. Accompanying the Chief Minister were several prominent dignitaries, including Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, MLAs Ramesh Mendola, Madhu Verma, Golu Shukla, Malini Laxman Singh Gaur, and Usha Thakur, along with senior officials concerned. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated this metro rail project earlier today from Bhopal, during a Mahasammelan on Women Empowerment held on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary year of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. The metro rail boasts all modern, convenient, and environmentally friendly transportation facilities. Each train can accommodate over 900 passengers simultaneously, and the stations are equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 모공각화증, 이제야 알게된 진실 (+해결법) 현명한소비자 Undo For passenger convenience, stations feature lifts, escalators, AI-based tracking, and a QR-based ticketing system, ensuring a smart travel experience. Swachh transport: Minister Indore: Union minister of state for housing and urban affairs Tokhan Sahu on Saturday lauded the Indore Metro project, calling it a prime example of a clean, safe, and environment-friendly transportation system. His remarks came during the launch of Indore Metro's commercial run at Gandhi Nagar Station, which has been renamed as Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Terminal. On the occasion, he, along with MP Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and other dignitaries, flagged off the train. They also observed the station infrastructure, passenger amenities, and operational readiness. "The Indore Metro project will not only accelerate the city's traffic flow but also stands as an excellent example of a clean, safe, and eco-friendly transport system," said Sahu. He emphasized that the project "realizes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dreams of 'Smart Cities' and a 'Green India.'" "The Metro will also become a new identity of pride and progress of Indore," he said as the minister also remembered Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar on her 300th birth anniversary. Sahu further highlighted the central govt's commitment to strengthening urban transportation systems across the country, citing the Indore Metro as a successful illustration of these efforts. Platform Screen Doors To Be Operated Manually For A Few Days Indore: With the initiation of Indore Metro's commercial run, the real testing of 'Platform Screen Doors' (PSDs) was checked as hundreds of enthusiastic people made a beeline and put a burden on it. "Indore is the country's first city where Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence (govt of India), has installed 'Platform Screen Doors' while working in collaboration with the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC)," a senior official, wishing anonymity, said. He added that the doors would initially be manually operated for the next few days. He added that PSDs are crucial for modern metro systems as they isolate platforms from tracks, ensuring enhanced safety. These doors open only when trains align perfectly with the platform, preventing accidents, trespassing, and objects from falling onto tracks. PSDs synchronize with train doors for seamless operation across the platform, ensuring passenger convenience and safety. "MPMRCL has signed an agreement with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to supply indigenously manufactured Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) for the Bhopal and Indore Metro Rail Projects. This initiative aligns with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and enhances passenger safety and operational efficiency on metro platforms," he said, adding that around 400 tests on PSDs have been carried out to check their load capacity and other parameters.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 20 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday chaired a special cabinet meeting at the historic Rajwada Palace in Indore to mark the 300th birth anniversary year of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, during which several key projects were approved. Following the meeting, Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya expressed gratitude to CM Yadav for organising the cabinet meeting at Rajwada and briefed the media about the major decisions taken. Among the key approvals was the 'Rahveer' scheme, under which individuals who help road accident victims by taking them to a hospital or primary health center will be rewarded with Rs 25,000 by the state government. 'The person will have to immediately inform 108 ambulance service, and the police will not harass them. This scheme will play an important role in saving lives,' said Vijayvargiya. The minister also highlighted the government's continued efforts to double farmers' income, including regular hikes in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of crops. The cabinet also approved the formation of Metropolitan Development Authorities in Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Jabalpur, with CM Yadav as the chairman of each. Vijayvargiya assured that the functioning of municipal corporations would remain unaffected. 'These authorities will ensure systematic urban development with a focus on future needs,' he said. In another significant move, the cabinet approved a plan to build working women's hostels in industrial areas. These hostels will be built under a Public-Pirvate Partnership (PPP) model and funded partially through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions of industrialists. 'The objective of this scheme is to ensure safety and housing for women working in these areas,' the minister said. Referring to the legacy of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, Vijayvargiya said, 'Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai had given training to weavers to make sarees in Maheshwar to provide employment during her rule. Even today, the Maheshwari sarees are famous globally and a skill development program dedicated to it has been started. Under the programme, an exemption from bank interest is provided. A provision of Rs 100 crore has also been made for the scheme.' The cabinet also gave its nod to a Rs 2,100 crore project for promoting Sanatan traditions around the statue of Adi Shankaracharya in Omkareshwar. Besides, Rs 321 crore was approved for the development of the district hospital in Rewa. Vijayvargiya also informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bhopal on May 31, where he will address a Women's Convention at Jamboree Ground.
